2025 and I am still listening to this woman's great works. This album kept a lot of relationships together. There was even a point in time when marriage counselors recommend listening to this album to couples having relationship issues...THAT'S how good it is. Jewel's music really is timeless.

Jewel, from your interviews and television presence, you seem like a lovely woman. But in your interviews about your mother, id like to say something. Hopefully you'll see this. Human to human, despite everything she's done, one day she'll be gone. Now, i could give you details of my own life, and the resentment it caused me towards my own mother or, i could just simply say, yes, what she done was absolutely awful. Are you wrong for feeling the way you do towards her? Not completely. However, when she is finally gone, those things will seem miniscule and you'll wish you would have pushed past your own feelings to better your relationship with her. Trust me. When you leave, you can't take your money with you. Its not worth the animosity. Repair the relationship with your mother while you can. Just don't put her in a position to depend on her. Love her past her mistakes, because you will not have her forever. Be blessed!

Just seeing this now, couple years later. Jewel's music along with other select artists, stopped me from doing something 'final' while on deployments, on the other side of the world, while all hell was breaking loose, back at home. People just don't understand the incredible heartbreak and trauma service members go through, combined with a helplessness of being able to do NOTHING about what is going on back home, while being commanded to focus on what is going on, in front of us... regardless of the pain.

I listened to this song non stop when I was on deployment in the navy, back in the late 90s. Feeling lost, alone, and far from home... while my husband was cheating on me, with our kids in the house. You have no idea of the unspeakable pain that our service members experience, and can do nothing about, while on the other side of the world, defending freedom. I lost too many brothers to suicide. I thank God for the songs and the friendships that got me through.
