Just finished Lynx's book, Return. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. I would love to attend one of her classes. My hope is that her book will become the spark that sets the world on fire for the idea of rewilding our planet, our lifestyles, and ourselves. It has for me. For positive global change, EVERYONE needs to get on board with this message. Everyone needs to be willing, even yearning, to change their thinking and their expectations for life. Simply recognizing that someone has the right idea isn't enough... we must act.

Sounds to me like he was depressed. Risking your life to feel alive is certainly one way to cope. I can sympathize with that; I’d never recommend such risky behavior, but I understand why these people go to such extremes. Incredible guy nonetheless.

After watching this interview I was really inspired by his mention of Telluride being a iconic mountain town. Went to Telluride did some amazing mountain hiking. Dean Potter was one of those people that constantly reminded us we should always get back to nature, like a modern Thoreau. RIP Dean Potter 👍🏔 🏞 🌍

Just reading Rick's book 'The Big Open'. Great expedition account with lots of insight and humour. Thanks to George B. Schaller and Rick Ridgeway, the Chiru's migration chain is still intact.

I'm a big fan of Lito, because of his videos, I fell in love with snow and skiing. In addition to the technique, I realized that skiing can and should be an act of perception of life, as a whole. I'm from Brazil. [email protected]

He was a Showman, the athletic stuff, definitely came last. Yes, he had talent, I will give him that. But I am no fan of these types of climbers. I come from a long line of climbers, one of which was my mother who summited Rainier in 1939. My brother turning 75 this July, was a climbing instructor and guide, and has climbed just about everywhere, including Yosemite. Anyways, I feel bad for the loved ones he left behind. However, everyone of you should know, that when you chase death, you will surely find it sooner than you think. Dean Potter chased death, and loving every bit of the attention he got from it. He was luckey to have made it into his 40's. It was a smart move when Patagonia let him go for the Arches fiasco. rip Dean Potter....

Far North Weaver have you ever actually seen any interviews with me? He does not love the attention, he was incredibly shy, hated public speaking, hated going to conferences and having to meet all these people and talk to them, and was genuinely terrified of all those things until the very end. His interviews show him as being very shy, reserved, even awkward, often letting the interviewer speak for him and merely adding "I couldnt have said it better myself". You're not a fan of these "types"of climbers, what is that type exactly? Who gives a shit if you came from a long line of climbers, or woodworkers, or freaking garbage men, that doesn't make your opinion more valid than say mine, or anyone else's who's parents were teachers and not climbers. Who gives a shit when your mother summited what peak, and how old your brother is, whether he climbed in Yosemite or not. He wasn't chasing death, he was chasing the state of heightened awareness by placing his life on the line and doing dangerous things. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I am not a fan of you and the type of climber that you represent. You think because your mother summitted Rainier and your brother has "climbed just about everywhere" you think your opinion actually matters. Just keep your mouth shut next time, why did you even feel the need to post negative things about a dead man? What if one of his family or loved ones read what you posted? Why speak out? You think you are really changing hearts and minds? Saving lives? No you're just an asshole sitting behind a computer speaking ill of the dead on freaking youtube comments.

Stanley Meyer was murdered for his Fracturization Hydroxy system in 1987. (It is currently being conducted by Dr. Stephen Greer). I hope this does not go the same way as the Ponds Fleischman experiment, where the first tests were repeatable, and then the ratios and materials exchanged to a formula using palladium deteurium and silver so the masses could never find the same result.

OMG, behind him - the last glacier on earth and it's almost gone. Won't be long now. But seriously, Nocera and MIT have been coming out with some amazing stuff in the last few weeks with artificial photosynthesis. I wish there were more specifics included. Is the platinum and cobalt constantly being used up at a prohibitive rate in the new processes?
