WTF is this?!? When i was on the cross country team i could barely run a mile in 7:30. Even now (3 years later) the fastest i can run a mile is 8:20 and i'm ready to pass out right after. I feel like a total loser right now..Is their a way to avoid extreme fatigue after 5 min of running or am i screwed? I'm 135lbs and 5ft 10 in. for reference.

CrowTech09 I know it's gonna sound like horseshit, but a lot of it is mental, believe me I went from not even being able to run a 1/4 mile to a full mile nonstop when I was like in 4th simply by telling myself I could, still currently I'm in XC, 14, and my best mile is 7 flat, sure I feel like dying but I'm still looking to improve because I know it's all in my head.

tbh thats an okay time for a girl and in 7th grade what ypu wanna do is eat better lift and do intervals and longer distance run so run like 4-5 miles easy smooth pace every day and next week increase the distance and also run cross country it helps alot more than middle school track

@lilshitty31599 жыл бұрын
+Greg Calleja Thanks for the tips I have staying more hydrated and been to practice every day. Now my mile is 6:05. And my 5k is sadly only 23:08
@GregCalleja9 жыл бұрын
By the way, keep running at a pace. It's important that at every certain 100 meters or mile you hit a goal time. That goal time will impact your end time :)
@seanny12109 жыл бұрын
+Greg Calleja You can practice getting better at distance running?
@GregCalleja9 жыл бұрын
There is always room for improvement. Even small things such as one's form can be fixed which could later in a mile take off a couple of seconds :D
@kl89229 жыл бұрын
I could run a 2:00 for the first 2 laps but then avg a 7 min/mile... -_-
@JoseLopez-wv6uk9 жыл бұрын
That's because you run too fast in the beginning. Try pacing yourself, and only pick up your pace once you're close to someone to pass them, or when there's like 200m left (your kick). Hopefully this helps you run your mile faster.
@kl89229 жыл бұрын
No, this happens during many of my solo training runs, and I watch my pace carefully with my watch. It's all good until mid 3rd lap, and then I start to break. I usually don't get a chance to run with people until during an actual race.
@JoseLopez-wv6uk9 жыл бұрын
That happens to me as well when I'm in my practice run; however, in the real race I too do better, it's like my mind set is different, like I'm more competitive obviously. Lol. But we also have to run everyday (consistency) so our body can keep up with the mileage.
@Epicgamerbro20008 жыл бұрын
2:00 for the first 2? I would try just doing the 800m lol
