Looks like you were enjoying the additional grip - what did you think of the Hawk Blue pads?
@scrmblr218 күн бұрын
Blues were way better than the powerstop ones I had on first. Depending on how long these last, and my budget, I am looking into the Willwood 4 piston setup for front and rear. I had a line on the subaru 4 pot/2 pot setup from the 06-07 wrx, but by the time I got a new bracket for the rear to mount the caliper, the new rotor size for the rear, and pads, I was basically going to have the money for a willwood setup that included a floating rotor. That being said, I may try the Hawk HT-10 compound next time around. I dont think I ever locked anything up on track, so there is room for more "bite". I have a few more sessions I will be posting as well. Unfortunately, I think I messed up the order, an possibly the day on some of the videos. I was having gopro issues.

@@scrmblr2 they were pretty chirpy. For brakes I've got some experience with both Hawk and Carbotec pads, and am using the same Wilwood pedal box setup as you - what are your calipers & rotors? The Hawks (DTC-70/60) are quite good, but also quite aggressive on the rotor. The Carbotecs have had several sessions on my 818 with tons of pad left - have plenty of stopping power (120 -> 40 is the biggest event at Summit) and haven't torn up the front rotors.

@@allyouneediskill8184 Currently using Powerstop z32? Pads and rotors. I don’t believe they are not up to the task of track work. very long braking zones with no lockup and junk tires but maybe that is due to manual brakes, my weak leg, and improper brake bias. Not enough track time to know yet. I do have a set of hawk blues I think I am going to throw on before next track session. After cool down laps I was seeing 2-300 degrees on front rotors & 3-400 on rear rotors. Not sure if that is due to balance or the lower amount of air flowing on rear setup.
@allyouneediskill8184Ай бұрын
@@scrmblr2 think you'd need therm-reactive paint to get a better idea of peak brake temps - the post cooldown may be more a function of how much rotor material there is and how good the vanes on the front rotors are working vs the back ones. Better tires will give you more stopping capacity, which will test your braking and really show if you're getting fade or a long pedal. Also, how are your master cylinder sizes front vs rear - they should be biased; I can check mine if you want; running "large" front rotors with 4 pots and slightly bigger rear rotors with 1 pot OEMs... so I've got a size difference in the 2 masters.

Sir -- You're not cornering or braking on the limit. Braking too early and too lightly. Also not cornering to the amount of grip available. I have 8 years racing experience and it's quite obvious sorry. Nothing personal but you hav eto be on the limit of griup EVERYWHERE : cornering, braking, acceleration. This is why the other Vette driver was pulling away (before he stacked it, yup).

Hell…..unfortunately I sold the car 😥….but at this time, based on sounds, I would say I have stock block 2.5L with a 20g, k&n cai, upgraded injectors, killer b equal length headers, , coil overs, other suspensions mods, stock trans w/ upgraded clutch, hawk dtc70 f & dtc 60 rear pads, ap racing front calipers & 2 piece rotors, dba rear rotors, turbo back exhaust, kognition chassis mounted rear wing…..I’m sure there is more depending on what you want to know about. Now I’m sad….should have never sold it. ;).hopefully the buyer is happy with it., I know I was. And….totally forgot, had fender mods front and rear to fit 275 width tires on 18” wheels.

@@scrmblr2 Damn and I understand what you mean, I almost traded my car in for a 2016 mustang gt. Then I decided to go for ONE more drive, hard one. Never went back. I remembered why I had worked so many late nights etc just to be able to afford the damn thing at 19 etc. I'm 23 now and am glad I still have it. But thank you though, mines currently going through an engine rebuild and I had planned to do a blouch 2.5xtr turbo and I wanted to do some track days/autocross's and I was hoping to see what setups I could possibly copy. 😅 I reccomend you buy one after the used car prices fall. Especially since they're getting harder and harder to find clean with people like me crashing them etc 😅.
