I used to play way better in net when I was facing a ton of crazy shots. It made me stay in the "concentration zone." I think that is the case for a lot of goalies. I'd rather face 30-40 shots a game than stand around sweeping the ice with 10-15 shots and having to stay sharp. With how fast these guys shoot the puck if you don't face a lot of shots you will probably have trouble with a really hard shot aimed in good spot like off the inside of the post.
