-Welding bolts out is always the best way to remove a broken off bolt. Drilling a bolt out should always be a last resort. -Growing up with my father being a machinist even he told me if you drill a bolt out more than likely about 80% of the time you're going to drill some of the threads out with it. -Do you like that kind of content? I could do a whole series on how to remove broken and frozen up bolts.

How did this one explode? Thats the cvt strainer right there, and for thete to be that much pressure in the transmission means air somehow got in. Luckily thats an easily replaceable part - if theres bigger problems then its more than likely junk.

I joined a Silverado FB group, I noticed a couple posts, that , all they were talking about are Trannys. I bought a beautiful 2019, it was back to the dealer 3x about the transmission. One time, they replaced the valve body, 3 or 4 months later , the whole thing went. Here’s the kicker. It’s been at the dealer for 3 weeks already, said they would keep me posted about, when one becomes available, they said at least a month out, probably longer. There are none available. Anyone have any good ideas? I bought it used and bought an extended warranty, they agreed to a new one. I have another Silverado but what if I didn’t have a second vehicle, like a lot of people don’t.
@WagonWorxautomotive15 күн бұрын
@ I believe this is where they should provide you with a loaner but that’s my opinion. Also I find that kind of hard to believe. I replaced a 2016 Silverado transmission about 6 months ago and my local dealer had one in stock. But inventory does change pretty quickly. But if you wanted to see if they are pulling your leg. Call your local dealers and see if they have any in stock
@johnkovitch55015 күн бұрын
Yeah the loaner car thing. It’s my extended warranty company. I need a truck so, I thought I remembered that my warranty got me a car too. So I call them up… yes you can get a rental, we pay $30 a day, well a truck from enterprise, “where they sent me”, costs $75 a day.

Pretty sure all of them nowadays, idk if they still make any manual options so obviously if they do, those ones have normal transmissions.
