Isn’t that a bad thing? Suckers in my area are a plague
@adamleach4714 жыл бұрын
they are definitely not a plague, we cant look at fish in there natural range doing what there supposed to do for there ecosystem like that. incase your understanding of how things in nature relate to each other is limited you need to realize that fish need to be able to eat other fish, these white sucker are an important food source for lake trout, Northern Pike and Musky throughout there range in most of Eastern North America. I understand that some rivers and lakes in western North America are dealing with sucker as an invasive species in which they are though of like a pest. this is not the reality. they reproduce quickly and on mass. they are not dealing with a natural predator. so there numbers are out of control. I genuinely would encourage you to try spearing or netting sucker in your area if there are no regulations stopping you from doing that. they are a great source of protein.

Nice video and attack. I just subscribed to your channel. Could you please subscribe back to me when you get a chance?

I would have to agree with the comments in all the videos, I use 30pound fluorocarbon for a leader. I've seen others use up to 80 pound and have no problems. It's not the bait or how you present it.

Daytime. The camera doesn't work well at night, even with it's LED light.

northernpikeman Yeah thought so. I usually fish them at nigth but they seem quite active in day time but it's pretty dark in winter anyway. I don't have any artificial lightning so I need lack of snow on ice etc to make it work.

What kind of camera do you have?
@smackinbaits66939 жыл бұрын
Everything was perfect, the video, spot and angles except the most important part. The offering. You can't get them to bite if you wait for them to get closer and then you twitch. it's either you keep twitching from the get go or set your dead bait like a dead fish and be still. Pike will fall for both. Pike are voracious eaters and not finicky at all.
@Burtess9 жыл бұрын
It is not the leader, it is too much motion to the bait. Typically pike are not very leader shy. In the winter pike prefer a large bait that doesn't move (try a deadbait - Portuguese sardine or a small mackerel). Last fish is not a snakehead lol.... it is a ling or burbot.
