I am a Virgo ascendant as well but I have my sun mars and Saturn in 8h. His moon was in my 8h. For a while it felt like he was a person who could really see me but as you said a lot of hidden feelings and past traumas came to the surface. In the end it became too much for me. Still miss him dearly but also feel a sense of relief. On a side note we also had a lot of red flag synastry which probably contributed to those feelings as well.
