My grandfather and I would catch Rubber Lip Perch many years ago, fishing the bridge abutments at the highway 1 bridge going over Elkhorn slough (Moss Landing CA.} The Rubber Lip perch were very large for perch 4-6 pounds.

got light tackle gear. 8’6” pole on a Penn Battle 2000 reel. high low rig on 2oz disc weight using berkley sand worms. i was at Poplar Beach

Nuno Machado hi lo dropper rig with 2oz round disc weight on a 15lb braided line to 20lb leader. berkley gulp sandworms were working but sand crabs work also. hit it 3 hours before high tide!!
