Kerry King couldn't get a dog to bark at him when he left slayer. Nobody was interested in bringing him in, he said so himself. Dave Lombardo is universally revered by his peers and has a line of world class musicians lining up to have him drum for them to this day. Look at his media. Constantly meeting new musicians with a smile beaming across his face.

Dave is a master at fast playing at aggressive volumes all the while maintaining his rudiments and unique fills. I always recognize when it's him playing on a record. That's when you know you're a truly great drummer.

Dave was right to go. When you help start a band and even have them rehearse in your own home, it would have meant everything to him. Then to be ripped off by your fellow band mates after giving your all is a backstab 100. The best thing he could do was walk. Slayer were never quite the same again, and at the end were crap with Gary.

@thebob014 ай бұрын
@@JimmyHandtrixxI know. I've been there. Musicians want to make music, not deal with all the other BS that come with the biz. Unfortunately, you can't escape it, so you end up paying others to take care of that stuff if you don't want to deal with it yourself. As soon as money comes into the mix, that's when all the fighting starts. When a bunch of friends get together and form a band in their teens, the last thing they're thinking of is money or how can I get rich off this? My high school music teacher told me many years ago, if you're in this for the money, you may as well quit right now.

Its one thing that i never understood with musicians. You create this wonderful art. But you have absolutely no idea about economics. And for the record..... A band is just as good as its drummer. Look at them. Does anyone of them look like they have common sense?... Same with Ramones. I listened to an interview with CJ Ramone some years ago, and The Ramones got offered a really good record contract with ppl who were their fans and would have worked their asses off to put them on the map and publicised and took care of everything. Nope.... Johnny and Joey decided to stay with their original record label and then continue to bitch about how overlooked they were in the mainstream.

Same happened with Queen. Label and management ripped them off for their first 3 albums. They were basically broke. Hence the song "Death On Two Legs". They really had to pull out all the stops and savings of what they had left, for "A Night At The Opera" album. And no radio station was willing to play Bohemian Rhapsody,,, Because it was too long. Except Freddies friend Kenny Everett who at that time ran a pirate radio show and... rest is history as history. But Brian May has said numerous times throughout the years if, A Night At the Opera hadn't done as well as it did, because they were basically broke due to being fkd over... They would have called it quits. Moral of the story: Dont be gullible with your economy.
