I know the video has been there for some time, but I just came across it. This is good training for sure. I did learn from it. Thank you.

Glad these videos can still be of use to CADD users 😁👍

how did you get all of your models organized into folders? When downloaded, mine were all bunched into one massive folder. Thanks!

Sorry I don't check this channel that often (just for good CADD advice so it wouldn't go to waste). If I remember, there used to be a 80/20 download on their site that was specific to SolidWorks files and it had everything sorted (just insert into your part file storage spot on your drive and link it, I'd have to dig around to find that one again but you should be able to find it online). Hope that helps point you in the right direction.

I just started an internship where i have to measure parts for reverse engineering, and i couldn't find any videos on this topic, thank you, this is some great information. I would love to see more content like this, maybe measuring stuff with radius and some shafts maybe

Thanks. Just didn't want any of these videos going to waste so I hope they help out anyone working with solid modelling (applies to other CAD programs also besides SolidWorks).

Hi. I used a 3DConnexion SpaceMouse Pro to easily rotate without using my regular mouse but use my regular mouse as the pointer (yellow circle). Do you need a device like a 3DConnexion SpaceMouse to speed up CAD and solid modeling? I'd say no because your mouse works fine for rotations, zooming in and out, and panning. Making instructional videos for this class I found that the SpaceMouse worked excellent in helping show models and drawings smoothly and it's easier to move, rotate, and zoom into any position on a part or assembly with the SpaceMouse. If you do a lot of CADD I would recommend picking up a SpaceMouse just for ease of rotation and zooming in (the regular mouse as you probably know sometimes is a pain to rotate a part/assembly to exactly what you want to view).

Thanks for the good words. I made these videos specifically for a community college class (hence some of the information on what's going on is left out due to these videos were part of an actual web page that explained the basis for these functions). I just didn't want them to go to waste so therefore they are up on line for your use and I'm glad you can make some use out of them. Enjoy.
