Hi, I also have an Ardco door. I overadjusted the door closer ratchet mechanism (the thing which goes on top of the rod) and I am unsure if I broke something. I recently took off the door and when I flipped the door upside down the rod was able to slide out from the channel. Do I need to buy a replacement part or if I pry the metal channel would I be able to reassemble the rod back into place? Thank you so much!

Hello, most likely you broke the torsion rod. You can buy a replacement kit with all of the pieces you need to rebuild the door. When you receive the new torsion rod you will have to cut it to the length that you want. If you gently take the aluminum off, you will be able to get to all of the parts inside the channel. When putting the aluminum back, I use either a pair of channel locks with tape wrapped around the jaws as not to scratch the door or a pair of channel locks for doing toilets and plumbing (no teethe) some guys can just snap it back into place, I need to use the channel locks. If you have the numbers off of the door, I believe the company is Dover Food Retail. Hope this helps. Thankyou

that hurt watching you go over paint like that

Your right, I should have cleaned it up first, that would have been the right thing to do. Thanks for watching.

What technique!

I should have cleaned it up and made a better ground, the rod wouldn't have stuck as much. I had refrigeration issues I had to get to. Thanks for watching

I find that it works better to lower the level. If it hits 99, there’s too much signal. Topping out under 99 then allows you to see a nuanced difference between proximate breakers, which dials the accuracy in.

Thank you for the tech tip. I will try it on a lower level.

Bought one of these units as well. Great for underground circuits in concrete floors, and outside in the dirt. 👍👍👍👍

Yes I know, you can buy these for around 250.00, Unfortunately, the company I work for had to buy it through Grainger, they charged us $350.00. It pays to shop around if you can.

Thank you, I try to keep the videos short. Hopefully someone can learn something from them. No reason to do a video that last a half an hour. Thank you

That looks to be for a York.

It maybe a York, it actually came out of an Octagon Main Unit for a supermarket. United Refrigeration could not match anything up. Octagon went out of business years ago. Thank you

Opposite end bearing floats should have come out with rotor.
@todaysrepairs2 ай бұрын
You are 100% correct, most of the time lower bearing comes out with the rotor and I replace both
@jimhrn85222 ай бұрын
Bad opposite end shaft, bearing should be there, quick metal is your friend.
