So there are 4 of this game, do you know where I can buy them? I see you accidentally killed 2 green soldiers, does this fame have any penalties for friendly fire?

no friendly fire penalty. this version you can get on GOG and maybe Steam. The four PS1 games, you gotta to eBay

@elkinfencer10 Thanks, are they simply names army men world war? Have you ever played MAX 2? I also made the games the sims, theme hospital, monkey Island and the original price of Persia games too. I the it there are 5 army men world war games, this one, and 4 PS1 games?

I don't usually rate fantasy and Sci Fi games, but this game is hot as a burning coal. I like these games because their based on real armis, but I think they got the balance right with army men toys in space. I like the fact you can still play battles after you finish the main missions. I also like the war game MAX 2, not to be confused with mad max. The old games are the best in my opinion. The army men games are some of the most underrated games available, it's a true shame 3DO went bust. But at least they won't become repetitive and boring. Sometimes a series over does itself and loses it's appeal. These games are hours of fun, I think even my brother pleyed them at one point, but that was back in the mid 00s, he now does other things.

Army Men III has died. but I've move on to greener pastures and greater projects since. You could give the multimedia franchise Qore World a try. The designs come close to that of the Army Men franchise (notably the toy aesthetic among the mannequins and their very anatomy). Failing that, I am also working on a new original IP based on Army Men series and a spiritual successor to AM3. Either myself or my co-editor will announce that later on the Army Men Archives channel.

This is my favourite army men game, I have 11 of them. I used to have a computer form 1993 and I hade a load of floppy games on it until my dad threw it away with the games in 2001 when I was 12. The army men games are some of my favorite games ever. Toys in space hase some fantastic music and cut scene's. In all my games I haven't got any newer than 15 years old, im ver old fashioned.

Hello, I just found your channel and watched some of your Army Men franchise video reviews and thought, man I hope he has an Attack on Toys review, and thankfully found it. Good review and I agree that a lack of campaign does suck, but the Toy Box editor does allow you to make your own campaigns. While this editor is not as good as other games like Call to Arms, Men of War, and of course, Arma III, it still is good enough for you to make some interesting missions.

it's a fun game. I like to make campaigns in it. but its however limiting with what I can do like make the AI guard a certain area or create checkpoints. but oh well. that's just how the game is. I actually made something that was inspired by the first army men game for the PC not that long ago called 'Operation Garden market' check it out if you like. I won't say it's perfect though. XD
@Dar-oi3tw2 ай бұрын
That was you! I favorited it on Steam and thought of playing it later. Never thought I would see a comment from you. I do hope to try your mods in the future as this mission set looks really interesting. I also have made several mods as well for this game such as a recreation of the first level from Army Men II as well as my own story called Story 1: The War in the Neighborhood which is just fan fiction for the 3DO games but it still is my passion project. Fell free to try them out as well.
@stinville2 ай бұрын
@Dar-oi3tw I'll give it a try. If you want to see how the campaign plays out. I made a video for each of the parts of the campaign and all. Just me playing them, no commentary. Right now I been mostly playing 'Star Wars Empire at war, the thrawnes revenge mod' but I also had been playing surges heros one for the dreamcast version and it's wild that no one really talks about that one all that much. Anyway. Whenever I decide to finish another map I been creating. Im thinking of mabye recreating sarges heros in some form in attack on toys. But I'll check out your maps and all.
@Dar-oi3tw2 ай бұрын
@@stinville Thanks. I will also try to get to your mod but that will take some time as I am trying to rush threw modded campaigns of Halo MCC since that game is eating 180 GB on my PC and would prefer to use that data elsewhere. Also, I thought of recreating Sarges' Heroes levels as well even starting one for the Living Room mission since I see that as the most iconic mission in the game. But it is hard as the best place for that is the Living Room in house but it is not big enough. For example, one of the couches is blocking the way to the hall way of the house which means you would have to put a party popper to help people get over there for the last part plus stairs area. Also, my connector for my N64 is crap and has the screen go in loops which makes a proper recreation difficult, plus there is no invincibility cheat to make it easier.

PS1 is probably best for convenience since it has native controller support. But if I remember correctly, the PC version looks better with no controller support unless you use something like Xpad.

How did they not get the cutscenes on a 512mb cart like RE2 on Nintendo 64? It should have been possible.

because of the n64s microcode that only a handfull of folks figured out how to utilize correctly, from what I heard, theyre not even true fmvs your basically watching a digitized version of a flip book with sound put over it, if I remember the old video I watched correctly.

64 mb was the maximum cartridge size for Nintendo 64, not 512 mb and memory in those cartridges was very expensive, only few games used 64 mb cartridges, most games used 8 - 16 mb.

Thanks for reviewing this one. It was my favorite for a million reasons. It was so fucking hard to beat after the bomber mission, but I got massively good at using the basic rifle. The main reason being that the weapon fires at a rate only limited by the speed you can hit the “fire” button The level the fucking wrecked me the most was the beach landing. I was only ever able to win because one play through I got hit with a mortar and clipped through the ground 😅

for the green cartridge what is the different
@elkinfencer103 ай бұрын
There isn't one. They just switched to grey cartridges for later prints as a cost cutting technique, so the green cartridges were the first print run. IIRC - don't quote me on this - the grey ones are actually rarer because fewer were made despite most people (myself included) preferring the green cartridges.

Army Men 3D was my introduction to the series and then Sarge's Heroes was my second game in the series. The whole series is fun and we need more games that are the tone of these games. Wish 2K would at least release a collection on current consoles to play.
@frankg27903 ай бұрын
To play Devil's Advocate, this game was released around the time game developers were producin' video games that were as dark and edgy as they can get away with. All 3DO did was jump on the bandwagon without lookin' before they leaped.
@okupant8803 ай бұрын
The best thing about the World War subseries is just how well they portray realistic firefights. Everyone tries to use cover, the player does the most, firefights are brutal and the death animations are great, like seeing the enemy soldier lower his weapon before collapsing or still running for a bit after getting shot and falling over. Also the limited music gave the firefights just that little extra ooomph.
