That whole parasite area was a nightmare, I struggled so badly with it I nearly gave up lol. The bugs seemed to just keep coming from everywhere and I probably had the lighting settings wrong because a lot of the time I couldn't see them until they were on me. I really wish there was a flamethrower for that area. Or a nuke. (And the less said about the gross hentai moment just before it the better! I mean, wtf Capcom, we did not need that!) That aside, I totally agree about chase enemies. If you can put an enemy down onto a knee then you should also be able to somehow finish them and it's annoying when you can't. I can see why other people like them though. But what made Nemesis particularly frustrating for me is that he only chases sporadically. Mr X in RE2 causes some real dread with how he's always after you and he forces you to have to plan your movements carefully, but Nemesis completely vanishes a lot of the time, only to then literally drop in from nowhere. It's an aspect of the game that I don't think was executed particularly well, though I'm curious what your thoughts are?
@clubshdRE3 ай бұрын
The bug section is rough, the generators are a saving grace because it will splat everything in the area which is nice. They come from the ceiling a lot and from the areas blocked off my the fences. One of the reasons they just appear. Completely agree about Nemmy! It was not implemented well. His stalking is all scripted and it does not make sense in some places when Nemmy doesn't show. Mr. X always had me in edges.
@fractalfae54183 ай бұрын
@@clubshdRE It was only while watching your playthrough that I realised those generators were even there! I wish I'd seen them myself because they sure worked well!

Yeah, when the game has you focused on the danger we will be more focused on that than what's around us. At least on first playthroughs. :-D
@fractalfae54183 ай бұрын
RE3R seems somewhat divisive amongst RE fans. It certainly has more emphasis on action and combat than RE2R, and it apparently has some story and scene differences to the original version that some fans seem unhappy about (I haven't played the original so have to defer to others), but I thought it was a mostly enjoyable game (though frustrating in places). You've got a lot of experience with the franchise so I'm wondering what your overall take on RE3R is? Do you think it was a good sequel to RE2R? Or should I ask at the end of this playthrough series?
@clubshdRE3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question! I think I talk about this some in the last part. But ultimately the OG series progressed the same way. Each title after OG RE2 became more action focused. That doesn't bother as all stories can't be the same pace, eventually, in my opinion, talking about bioengineering and genetics things are going to start getting faster, deadlier, and harder to kill. I liked RE3R, however I would have loved more story and more exploration within the city. I can't speak for others but I know I am not the only one who thinks this way, RE3R should have been more open world in that you could go into most buildings, visit all sites from the original, and keep in more detailed mechanics. One of the mechanics I miss was ammo creations in OG RE3 where, depending on how much of one type of ammo you created, you could craft special versions of handgun bullets for instance.
@fractalfae54183 ай бұрын
@@clubshdRE More exploration and a larger area would've been so good. Just being able to search more buildings for useful items would've been fun. (Not that I'm condoning looting of course, but a zombie apocalypse does provide some pretty solid mitigating circumstances!) The ammo creation sounds interesting. It seems like there were quite a few elements and areas that didn't make it into the remake. It's still a really fun and challenging game but with those extra little bits they left out it could've been truly awesome. Thanks for the reply!
@fractalfae54183 ай бұрын
Very interesting seeing all the details here, especially outside. I missed pretty much all of them because I was focused on trying to get away from Nemesis, not realising that for much of it I didn't really need to due to him only appearing in certain sequences. Tbh I had no idea what was happening for much of the opening, wasted ammo trying to down zombies, didn't see openings to escape through, and generally made a complete mess of it, though I presume that was the intention. Observing that the cop car probably crashed into the café because of donuts made me laugh, and shooting at Dario in the trailer was awesome 😂
@clubshdRE3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the interaction and comments!! Yeah, my first play through I rushed also. I missed so much more thinking he was always behind me, such as the people falling from buildings and running in the streets by the theatre. This was actually my first seeing the theatre runners.
@fractalfae54184 ай бұрын
Trying to work out how the A and B runs work together is headache inducing, because ultimately they don't synch at all. As you point out, it makes no sense that both have the Annette and William bridge scene for example. If they had been designed better the A and B runs could've worked really effectively as different perspectives of the same events, but instead we've essentially got four separate, independent scenarios using the same characters and situations. It's still a great game but it could've been epic if we'd actually had A and B runs synch properly with each other. That aside, these were fun playthroughs. It was nice to see all those details in the game that are otherwise so easy to miss, and learn so much more about RE lore. There were also a lot of useful gameplay tips too, which are invaluable given how badly I suck at horror games! I'm looking forward to working my way through the next videos in this fun series.
@clubshdRE4 ай бұрын
Thanks! Really appreciate the views, likes, and especially the discussions!! Yeah, really wish there was more thought put into interactions between characters and items. Would have loved a game option where you have to choose which items to take. If you open doors they are open in the playthrough, any character could grab any weapon but they aren't there for B, healing, etc... Would have made for a truly great survival horror experience. Looking forward to more discussions and giving out tips if possible!! I do have to give a shout out to all the great streamers and content creators I follow and watch for a lot of these. I haven't played enough to learn them on my own. But hoping to change that in the future!!

I think the game's pretty alright! Although I think the original is better, this one still is nice to revisit after some time. A shame it doesn't have much extra content like a mercenaries mode ;( But the gameplay is good, I like to listen to it while studying (+1 sub).
@clubshdRE4 ай бұрын
Thanks for the Sub!! I agree, the game is alright and I do enjoy coming back to it for gameplay and revisit the Remake storyline every now and then. However the OG is much better with a lot more content. Such a shame they rushed it and cut a good portion of the original. I much would have rather had the OG content plus some additional content added like in the RE1 Remake they did.

I'm stunned at how easy you made Ada's section look. I died so many times just trying to work out what to do, and then a load more times trying to do it, I was ready to give up. (It wasn't helped that I found Ada to be quite annoying as a character. She's doing the whole 'I'm so tough' thing but is wandering around a combat zone in a cocktail dress and high heels, and armed with a next-to-useless peashooter sidearm. Though as you prove, she doesn't actually need to shoot anything, which I wish I'd realised at the time!) I dread having to go through that section again when I do a replay, but having now seen how it can be done I'm more willing to try it again. (PS- Archery sounds interesting!)
@clubshdRE4 ай бұрын
Yeah, I died a couple times in this section on my first playthrough. Mostly at the Mr. X section. I didn't realize, find the control to open the door and then switch to the fan to get out. I also died in the furnace the first time trying to figure it out. I watch a lot of streamers/youtubers do no damage runs and speedruns that I pick up some tricks here and there. It helps, but I never watch anything before a first and sometimes second playthrough. I like going in blind. Ada, to me has always been this untouchable spy. Not the action hero like Leon is, at least in 4. For me she shouldn't be fighting just avoiding everything. Realistically the outfit doesn't make sense in the situation. Especially the heels. On wrong move on a grate and you roll your ankle. ;-)

Loved the 'Hi' to Mr X at 28:10 😂 That was awesome! I hated him SO much. The sound of his footsteps will probably haunt me forever. That aside, is there a reason why you didn't use the Sort button to order your inventory?
@clubshdRE4 ай бұрын
I will tell you what, with the Turtle Beach headset I use and the superhuman hearing on I can hear his freaking footsteps six rooms over like they are next to me. Had to shut it off so I stopped freaking out when I first played :-D I... actually didn't realize their was a sort button in RE2R. I will need to check that out. But sometimes the organizational side of me loves inventory management. Also, I picked up some speedrun strats where you put the items you are going to use in the top left since that is where your cursor/selection starts. Shaves minimal time but can be helpful in RE2R. Just wait until RE4OG and RE4R when I spend lots of time organizing!!

@@clubshdRE The depth of detail is one of the many things I am enjoying about your playthroughs. Maybe it's because I spent most of the time feeling stressed (especially when Mr X was around) but I seem to have missed a lot of the incredible detail in the game. You taking the time to truly explore things is fascinating. Such a lot of intricate work has gone into objects and environment and it's nice to see them properly looked at.
