Wow, I just came across this video, and had to watch it. I grew up in the 50"s not to far from Stockton Blvd. Needless to say I did not recognize it at all. It use to be mostly truck stops. Time marches on and things change. Is it a good area or not so good? Thanks for sharing.

Oak Park was at one time but not anymore and not for a long time. They took back their neighborhood and today it's actually a fairly nice area. The same thing happened to Southside Park at the infamous intersection of 4th and T street where the hookers strolled and junkies would sit with their works at the park benches in broad daylight. South Sacramento is still a no go zone and the the worst Sacramento has to offer, even worse than Del Paso Heights or 12th street bridge.

In the really old days, OP was an Italian part of town. Really nice. The same for East Sacramento from 57th to 48th Street. Back in the 80's I lived at 48th and Folsom Blvd. I would shop sometimes at Quality Market which was nearby. It was run by Italians and had the best Italian foods. It is long gone, now. I think a Trader Joe's has filled that spot.

You have to walk there at night, and then if nothing happens, just start flashing hand signs at people and any car that passes you. Then you will see how dangerous those areas are.

Dat not the 'hood. Maybe about 30 years ago, that area was sketchy... but now it's fully GenZ'er and quite gentrified with coffee shops, brewery, UC Davis & Shriner's Hospitals up the street, and knick knack shops. If you want to go to the 'hood... drive further down to South Sac west of Stockton Blvd, between Florin Rd and Mack Rd... Valley Hi Dr... or Elder Creek area.
