Hello there Sir, most Lochs will give you a chance of a fish over 2lb+. Are you wading, from the bank or from a boat, are you using flies, lure or worm? The Lochs are very different but there's a good chance you'll beat your PB 😉
@antinyandrusjak3861Ай бұрын
I'll be wading I recently watched you and your mate wading in a loch you both had a great day I'll be mostly fly fishing but will be throwing lures if the weather doesn't allow me to fly fish

That would have been Swannay Loch, best fished in the morning and late afternoon in my opinion with lures anyway. It's an awkward wade and slippy, I'd recommend a wading stick (trekking pole) You'll beat your PB effortless 👌

I think you're right about Savage Gear being focussed on seatrout fishing. I've tried a few of their rods and would agree that the one you're using isn't great. I'd recommend trying the parabellum - it's got a lovely soft tip but plenty of backbone too and is very light. I've got the 9 foot casting weight up to about 25g and used it a lot for seatrout, very nicely balanced and much superior to the sgs2 which is what it looks like you're using.
@povfishingorkneyАй бұрын
Awesome thanks 👍🏻, I'll have a look at that. Yeah, it's the SG2 I bought and I think it is more aimed at sea/bass fishing.

@povfishingorkneyАй бұрын
I have a pursuit I use for the sea trout right enough, I've noticed that indeed with the stumpy rods 😏🤣 I like the idea of getting distance if I need it and the confidence when I'm into something decent. I'd panic with anything over 3lb with a 7 ft rod 🤯
@whitetroutchannelАй бұрын
@@povfishingorkney that wrath 2 rod i got has a decent bit of back bone to it mate handle the last 3lb trout i hooked no sweat but another foot on it would just set it off but im like you mate rod n reel isnt top of my agenda, im more concerned about leader n lures, thats where the things happen
@povfishingorkneyАй бұрын
@whitetroutchannel Exactly, the reels I've used for the past few year haven't really let me down, my daiwa lad might have a few year in it left. Seriously thinking about trying to get lures made and painted independently. There's days I look at my lures and I think the pattern/colours just not there, especially the second part of the season when they seem to be more interested in natural patterns. (Something to think about in the winter) 🤔
@whitetroutchannelАй бұрын
@@povfishingorkney mate your inside my head 😂😂 im sick of lures havin deadly movement but non uk patterns, half them lure designs all come from scandanavian desks and it just doesnt seem to cut over here, ive been paintin lures most of this season and ive had fish this year on lures ive never had so much as a follow in with, theres bound to be a chinese company that could make the blanks to speck, im surprised no company has brought out a "DIY" kit pack with blanks and a few wee pots of the paint they use, id buy 1 😂😂
@povfishingorkneyАй бұрын
@whitetroutchannel It's frustrating, you see cheap Chinese jerk baits and spoons etc with fantastic paint jobs and I think "....if only!" 🤣 I'm besotted with thru lines now, but the stocks are low everywhere. Im getting most lures from Germany and Poland now anyway , be as well getting them from China 😏 Definitely something I'm thinking about. Maybe wait and see if the channel and through line popularity looks like growing a bit? Be better taking the like of that home in bulk and selling a few.
