Very much enjoyed their 1987 album The Sound of Music when it was first released in my late teens.....didnt hear any mention of that one during the interview.

Peter Holsapple!!! The dBs are awesome but one of my favorite albums ever is Mavericks, an album of acoustic guitar duets with Chris Stamey. It’s chock full of catchy tunes with clever lyrics. Trying to buy tix to their SF show upcoming but the transaction’s not going through. Grrrr!

She was married for 6 years to Adam Włodek, who was also a poet. The marriage didn't work out because he was too interested in other women, but they remained friends till the day he died in 1986. She cared about his opinion about her poems.

Hi Bob! I just watched this interview in Houston (chillin after work in AC-home-comfort), where we are still having hellacious heat. I really enjoyed it!! It's like a primer, since I'm going to catch Maia's full band concert in Nashville. 🎉

Thank you for "tuning in." I have an earlier interview with Maia both here on KZbin and on my website at talesfromthecorners.com

I used to play the Flying Monkey Orchestra stuff a lot on my instrumental / new age / jazz music radio show in the 90s, but only recently made the connection that it's the same Rob Mounsey who worked with folks like Phil Collins, Paul Simon, and Steve Winwood later on. SO COOL.

I am surprised by Rob’s reaction to the person that said Rob’s music made him feel better. I didn’t know Rob very well but I can remember listening to him play the piano in the high school band/choir room. Honestly…when he played, whether it was piano, clarinet , flute….he transported people! I am shocked he didn’t know that back then. I knew then….Rob had special connections to all music.

I can totally see how Rob transported listeners -- what an uber-talent.
