This is like a D Loop64 0n Steroids!!!!

Thanks! And another big difference is that you don't have to decide how long your loop is beforehand, so it's much more like a pedal-based "loop station".

Great module! One question though: Is there a reason why this is mono and not stereo?
@waverleyinstruments
@waverleyinstruments 2 ай бұрын
Hi, many thanks! It's really just a design choice, mostly to keep LOOPREC a compact and basic looper for mono audio sources, but also so that it has half the memory footprint of a stereo version. For stereo applications, you could use two LOOPRECs and trigger the LOOP and STOP commands from the same CV source. -Rob

Just a little clarification: When I go into AUTO RECORD mode, it looks as though I might be clicking the LOOP button whereas I'm actually just poised over it with the cursor, ready to click it to close the loop. Hope that makes sense. Also, when clicked, the LOOP button turns green briefly and you can see it only does that when I close the loop / stop recording. (this is around 1:10 in the video) -Rob @ WI

Is this just for percussion? Seems similar to Percstation.

SEQSTATION is derived from the probability-based step sequencer in PERCSTATION, but with twice the number of tracks and pattern slots - 512 steps in total. We had several requests from PERCSTATION owners for a standalone and expanded sequencer module and if you already own PERCSTATION, then SEQSTATION is discounted to half price. The most obvious application as shown here is to sequence a virtual drum machine, but SEQSTATION could be used to control any module that accepts a CV trigger.

This is a marvelous idea and execuition. From the concept to the interface. Thank you. If I may offer 1 constructive critique it's tha all of the sounds are not vastly different. Indeed too many of them seem quite redundant. If you were to address that I think this application would be a mega hit. Cheers😊.

hi using this in Reason 10 with voltage modular (mac pro 2013), if I add more than one module, everything becomes very distorted and stuttering, basically unplayable, I turned up and down the buffer and no change. I think this sounds better than almost anything I have used, if you have some way of making this work, let me know, I also tried on an m2 mac studio with similar results.

Hi, can you use samples in the Voice section as well?
@waverleyinstruments
@waverleyinstruments Жыл бұрын
Hi, it doesn't have a built-in sample import or anything like that, but you could use the TRIG OUTs to trigger an external sample module or any other sound source module that takes a trigger CV input.

Was Satriani heavily inspired by Zappa? I had no idea. Zappa was before my time. I started with Satch and I always associated this sound with him. Dang.

Zappa guitar nerd alert... Don't recall Satch ever singling out Frank as an influence, but fun fact - Frank's son Dweezil had guitar lessons from Joe, so there you go! Similarity might be from two guitarists that I think Satriani has mentioned as influences, or at least players he admired - Brian May and Allan Holdsworth, who both tended to have (imho) a sort of "full fat" tone for want of a better term 🙂 These little demos are humble efforts to try and get into the tonal territory typically associated with Zappa's late 70's guitar tones immortalised on the Shut Up N Play Yer Guitar triple album. Other possible things that might link the two players are extensive use of modes - the first "Inca Roads" type vamp flips between the Lydian and Mixolydian mode and Joe Satriani has probably introduced more guitar players than ever before to the Lydian mode via his classic track Flying In a Blue Dream. I am such a nerd, I didn't have to Google any of this 🙂 All the best, -Rob @ WI.

Hmm... correction. I think it was Steve Vai who had lessons from Joe, and Dweezil may have had lessons from Steve, who was part of Zappa's band during the early years of his career. So they are kinda connected!
