I'm going to give this a try when Salmon is back in season. Have you tried this in a dehydrator instead of a smoker? Thanks for the upload!

I visited Healy for the first time last weekend on my way to Fairbanks. It looks like a nice quiet town and I'm considering moving there from Palmer next year. I actually stopped at that Vitus gas station and got bad gas :(

Do you happen to know a map or name of the gravel road you are on seeing the beautiful mountains? I am finding limited information about a driving tour like you did of this area.
@lovealaska17075 ай бұрын
I forgot the name of the road, but that view is inside the Army training field.

Shirley was a relative on mine and actually took care of me as a child for some years. Also, theres a parking lot next to that bridge. And if you park at night facing the mountain side behind u, when a car drives over the bridge in the opposite direction ur driving, its a cool mirrage. The light reflexions make it feel like your driving over the bridge. Also, what was (not sure if it still is) the largest house in Nenana, across the the rv park was my grandparents Charlie and Gayles house. It had a swimming pool attached to it that i almost drowned in as a kid.

My uncle Mitch was also Native Athabascan leader before he passed. Last but not least, my father is buried in the cemetery there.

Was there last week(June 2024) when visiting Denali for 3 days. Went to 3 Bears every night on the way back from the park. I thought it was interesting that women who worked at the check out registers were from eastern Europe. I would think there would be local residents needing those jobs.

Thank you for sharing this video. My family and I have wonderful memories of Alaska! I'll be forwarding this to my siblings! 😊 I can remember the church I attended (North Pole Assembly of God), Santa's House (which was tiny back then), a friend's house, the gravel pits where we went swimming, our church's youth Snow-Go Parties and the absolutely BEAUTIFUL scenery (all 4 seasons of beauty and splendor). There were no commercial businesses (McDonald's, Safeway, Pizza Hut, etc) but it was definitely fun! The roads were dirt and gravel. Shout out to Robert Mainlander, Robert Hawks and the Yingst family if you all still live in North Pole! 👋😊
