Anti seize on the studs messes up torque readings.
@autodiy1
@autodiy1 23 күн бұрын
I never considered that. What do you do? Just do them dry, or do you torque higher? I’ve never had an issue (yet) using antiseize and about 85-90 ft-lbs.

@@autodiy1 TTQ tested out what happens when you use anti seize on studs. It basically doubles the torque value, so you may be torquing them down to as high as 180 ft/lbs which could put excessive strain on the studs. I toque em dry even here in the salt belt. If you are rotating your tires every 5-6k you really shouldn't have any issues with them getting stuck. Here is the TTQ vid kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5m2nqeCi6qGia8si=i-pD0t9VPbnUSa0b&t=999

@soriano3361 Thanks for the tip. That is a huge difference. I think I’ll stop using antiseize on wheel studs.

Very thorough guide. I did mine recently. I found it best to just replace the soft and hard line and directly connect the slave and master

Thanks for the feedback. I’m working on the suspension bushings now, and it is a real pain in the neck. I’m glad I went the insert route for the diff.

You really need to completely purge the air out. Let the fan switch on a couple of times with the heater on Hot. Also use a spill proof funnel for this

Just installed mine and I can definitely hear more of a growl under load. I can’t really feel any more performance but it makes my 1.8L sound much better. In my opinion, this is the best air intake option on the market.

why woul dyou fil it up with gas? by the time spring rolls around your gas will be old. also with washing it whats the point? it sits in storage and gets dusty. I know, i keep 3 of my others cars in storage during winter
@autodiy1
@autodiy1 2 ай бұрын
I put in fuel stabilizer to prevent the gas from getting old. A full tank has less air space, and therefore less condensation risk as it goes through temperature cycles all winter. Washing gets rid of bugs, leaves, oil, etc, but you are right that it gets dusty (unless covered), so needs another wash in the spring anyway.

You can overinflate your tires (stay under max pressure per sidewall) for storage, to help minimize flatspotting.
