Ending up with a life in Blackpool is probably one of the worst hands you can be played in the UK. Not everybody fails of course but if your just a simple, unassuming hard working person like alot of people, the prognosis is often quite deflating, even if you've managed to somehow engineer a few life events and experiences along the way

Surprise how big an audience there is out for this in say, men aged over 55 in the Western World. I was brought here via watching a New Yorker man in a van story. Thinking back to the pandemic and me ending up in homeless unit in Scotland age 60. Talk about a shock to the system. Yet three plus years later I'm better off than ever. Look forward to more of your story. Respect to you, Sir.

You've achieved getting to 61. Plenty of so called high achievers i knew never made it to 61. Owning houses or cars isn't everything. I owned a business. In the end it meant absolutely zero. Respect.

I'm into politics, computer stuff and electronic music and the algorithm put you into my feed, how weird! Still, enjoyed it buddy - in a sort of melancholic way. I'm pretty sure all of us have big portions of regret and remorse when we reflect back. As we get older and the time in front is less than the time behind we understand we can't fix stuff we thought we had enough time to do and we're left with all we are. Take solace that you're not alone we all share similar feelings, some less some more. For the next instalment I'm going to settle back with a dark northern pint and put more logs on the fire. Thanks for your thoughts, it makes some of us realise the similarities between us and that helps. A new sub.

If nothing else Neil, your story illustrates a determination to improve your situation and consequently, your earnings and ability to fulfil the things that were important to you in this period of your life. Nobody could ever accuse you of being a quitter or not taking responsibility for yourself.

My dear mate. 77 here - and I'm just taking off, with nothing more than my old age pension, to the far east where it's cheaper to live and where I quite expect to die...If I stay here it won't prolong my life one minute more. As long as you're living, life is for living. Don't let it get to you. None of us can beat death. Think out of the box you seem to have fallen into. Good luck mate.

I found this very interesting. I lthink there are lots of ppl who look back at certain turning points and wonder what would have happened IF ... ... My parents moved out of inner London to Essex when I was 15, and of course, my life changed. Not necessarily for the better, but hey ho. I am VERY glad you got out of the drug route and found a job ... who knows where that may have led, but I believe your Army time probably saved you from that, cos you had learned a bit of discipline, and those boisterous Rockers actually saved you ‼️ I was a Rocker 💯 Good times. Looking forward to the next chapter . . .

GREAT to see your van, Bumble has to bee Female - the Queen bee, men have female vehicles, because you get inside them, and women have male vehicles because they protect us women, encompassing us all around like a protective blanket. Does your overhead shelf have a door? If not, then it is not a locker. Lockers have a door which you lock 😊 I like the rise and fall bed, very good idea 👌 Swivel seat, sink, hob, fridge and all storage all very nice indeed 👍👍💯 But it all looks like a black and white movie ! Get some colour in there 🤪🤪 (yellow and black throws to match the outside perhaps ??🤔🤔) Good tour ✔️
