I'm so sick and tired of seeing bibles made in China. They used to be made right here in the USA. Very unfortunate.

I have a recently purchased copy of the single column CSB "navy" leather soft. It differs from the reviewed copy in a couple of ways. Apart from the cover and binding, it's a black letter edition (no red highlighting). Ithas marginal space somewhere in between the reviewed copy and the wide margin edition shown. It's a 10pt font size, and appears to be based on the same text block as the reviewed copy. It has a single tan (?) ribbon marker. It's early days yet, but so far, I like it.

Thank you for such a good review. I've got one question though, what about the paper quality between the MacLaren nkjv thinline and the kjv paragraph? are both the same quality? paper quality is what matters to me the most. take care!

They both have really good paper. Easy to turn and nice weight. As far as opacity I think my copy of the NkJV Maclaren is a little better but they are really close.

Jesus gave to the Apostles the Authority to preach & teach the truth. Does Authority, therefore, matter to be able to preach & teach the truth, and to ensure that it continues that the preaching and teaching is done correctly should not that Authority be passed on by those who had/have the Authority to preach and teach the truth or can anyone preach & teach, whatever they like without that Authority??? Would anyone allow someone to teach their children if that person has no authority to teach children??? Why is this so difficult to understand.

I am glad I happened upon this review! Same as you, aside from God's Word, it's my favorite book of all time. It has edged out Gone With the Wind, which I thought would never happen. I've thought about getting that gray edition for a while. It's overwhelming, how many different editions there are. I appreciate the tip on how to fix that weird page. That would freak me out if I saw it. I've been using my beloved Barnes & Noble Deluxe Pocket Boxed Set. But my eyes are getting worse and the print is getting harder for me to read. My old paperbacks won't last much longer, so I do need to get a replacement. I actually do prefer them divided because I do so much of my reading on the go. It's easier to carry around a smaller volume than these big ones. But I may consider this one for at home. And I still do lug around big books sometimes, so it's not a deal breaker. Thanks again.

I am really enjoying my new RSV Sovereign Collection Bible. One thing that I especially like is how the translation uses "thou," "thee," "thine," etc., when people are addressing the Deity directly. I think it adds a sense of reverence toward our Divine Creator.

I won’t be buying any Bibles produced in China! Why are we supporting a communist regime that is destroying Christianity in their own country? Shame on all Bibles producers using China! Glory to Jesus Christ! I too am excited to have the RSV in a more affordable modern format. I did notice that it is typeset in the NRSV Comfort Print. I am not a huge fan of that font. I really wish they would have went with one with a more classic look. But I guess I understand their logic. Still a bit of disappointment for me personally.

I have copies printed by Collins, which I picked up at a thrift shop. One has the 1952 text, and the other has the 1971 text. They have the colour pictures but no drop caps. I'm not sure when they were printed. My copy of the reviewed edition arrived today. I am considering making it one of my "go to" Bibles.

Why would Nelson reprint the RSV? Personally, I wouldn't mind an ASV 1901. Since they had the copyright at one time. On second thought, maybe an RSV is a good idea. 😅. I love all bible translations.
