Thanks for posting the video. It really does help someone on deciding to do it yourself with help, or get ARB to do the install.

Hey there, how much lower do the ARB tank site compared to the OEM one?
@guywhospiltegg Жыл бұрын
Only by about 20mm I’d say, still lots sitting lower. The steel bracket / strap that runs along the length of the tank is also the lowest point so it will protect it in a way.

Good video! Was there any update on the distance to empty? Also how much was the ARB tank?
@guywhospiltegg Жыл бұрын
G'day, Thanks. the distance to empty calculation on the dash is never going to be correct... in my mind, it's simply just a case of the dealership changing the capacity on the ECU so it knows the new capacity - they laughed when I asked if that was possible... My actual distance with the new tank was close enough to say 1000 km. This is with an average economy of 12.5L/100Km. I hope this helps.
@guywhospiltegg Жыл бұрын
The tank was $1350 from memory.

Maybe I missed it. But I have the xlt 1200. I think its the same thing. Anyways the oil tank has a bottom feed that goes to the oil pump. Then on top it has an oil line coming out of the top with a T fitting about an inch off the tank (I know where that goes) above that T fitting it's about 2 foot long hose and It has a one way check valve at the tip. Where did that come from or go to? I want to make sure I plug that up. I pulled everything apart to put in a mini jet boat.
@joshuabreneman64253 жыл бұрын
Putting mine back in. Pre-mix is unnecessary, a pain in the neck and incredibly expensive. If you want to double the price at the pump go ahead and pre-mix.
@guywhospiltegg3 жыл бұрын
In Australia you can’t buy premix at the petrol station pump… didn’t even know that was a thing? Can you actually buy already mixed fuel? I always just mix it in a jerry can and pour it in.
@dameagerbeaver77033 жыл бұрын
I’m removing mine 100%. It’s not oil pump failure as much as oil lines failing. Close to $3k in a proper engine rebuild, cylinder re-plate is about $1500 of that. I am not letting one oil line cost me that again. Happened at 20 hours on the once brand new ride. Makes pre-mix the affordable option plus the peace of mind is priceless. Mixing fuel is easy versus pulling that motor out. Ask me how I know.
@joshuabreneman64253 жыл бұрын
Why I just replace the lines regularly. Still much cheaper than mixing.
@phimister782 жыл бұрын
@@dameagerbeaver7703 how do you know? lol tell me about it . yeh definitely get rid of the pump . never heard of anyone oiling up their plugs or anything like that that’s a load of rubbish.

I have the same ski and was wondering how the rotary valve gets lubricated? My friends are telling me the premix doesn't lub that but I dont see how that's possible. Let's say you just premix and let the oil tank run dry, wouldn't that work? Thanks in advance for any info on this
@areliablesource45584 жыл бұрын
Yamaha’s do not have rotary valves. That’s only seadoo. Premix is the way to go on Yamaha’s. I run mine at 40-1 ratio and runs Great.

Hey guys, may I ask what are the bike models you used? Was it a road bike give the minimal load you guys carried?
@guywhospiltegg5 жыл бұрын
Hi, we had a few 'road' bikes and one 'cyclocross/gravel' bike. the wider tyres made it a bit more comfy on the roads but as they were quite good quality roads to begin with a road bike would be fine. I would recommend a bike you are happy sitting on for a long time and one that is able to carry all the tings you need.
@jefffang56915 жыл бұрын
thanks for the advice man! Gonna take some time to get a good bike before hitting the road.

How did you go with being allowed to film this or did you just keep it hush hush? I tried to film round 1 Casey with a drone and they shut me down before I could do anything.
@guywhospiltegg7 жыл бұрын
Without getting into it too much.... technically wasn't allowed too because the venue is not 'public property'. It was being leased by the organisers so they have the final say. (Even if CASA rules are followed). Best tip for drone stuff: I find people are more than happy for you too around them or around their property/event if they see you are willing to openly discuss it with them and you seem like you know what you are doing. Give them the footage to use, keep everyone happy.
