I remember as a kid hearing Jerry playing this organ i always wanted one, i never did get one but had a Berkshire, Holiday and an MX1. great organ sounds that you just can`t get with a keyboard.

Giving the artists their due: Secret Love--Dennis Hinman On Green Dolphin Street--Jim Levesque Diff'rent Worlds (Theme from "Angie")--Alden Skinner (longtime Yamaha-er Debbie Culbertson was his wife) Ain't She Sweet?--Rollie Hudson Welcome to My World--Hudson Top Banana--Tracy Hammer--(a bit of a shocker, since the one time I heard Tracy she seemed to be more in the theater organ tradition than her fellow Yamaha-ers) Great Day--Hudson A Foggy Day--Skinner

RQBtv channel posted an image of the back cover in their post of this same album. Has 1965 date in the title and missing the second L in Mendellsohn. I'm finally uploading the ultra rare, album where Jerry records direct from the Hammond tone wheel generator on some of the tracks. It explains it in the text on the back cover: *Jerry Mendellsohn Organ HI-FI The Unique Stylings of Jerry Mendellsohn VOL.3* It should be up tonight. At least side 1. I thought I recorded the whole album. Now the Turntable has the back off I'm replacing a funky PCB mounted flat blade screwdriver through-hole trim potentiometer for the 33rpm.

That you are hearing is about the best they can do. There is a whole selection of organs of various ages and makes that realistically are fine if you want to "Tie a yellow ribbon" but otherwise they generally don't have enough good sounds to take up all that room! I know I get to repair them and many are unloved and a waste of time to fix. That goes for these and many other makes. Best is to stack 2 or 3 Technics SX-KN7000 machines together and then see what a Technics great product is all about.

Why do I have such a weak spot for space-organ music? Not that there is much organ on this one! 😁👏👍

Had to Listen to a Lowrey Lincolnwood in the wake of hearing about Garth Hudson’s passing. He was the eldest band member of The Hawks and the last member to pass away at that. And he used a lincolnwood tso-25 and a Leslie cabinet to great effect with the hawks and even into the Bob Dylan era and eventually using it in The Band’s critically acclaimed first two albums: Music from Big Pink and The Brown Album 1968/1969 respectively. He retired his Lincolnwood for a top of the line Festival ts25 model in 1971-1972 I’ve been told. If you want to hear a raunchy lowrey sound through a Leslie cabinet. Listen to chest fever from the big pink album

I had this organ (Composer series) for a few months in 2010. Just a little too bottled sounding. A very populated, ' proprietary multi-pin LSI (Large Scale Integrated) circuit organ. Electronics on the common beige pc board material of the day, with ribbon cables. Here in Columbus, Ohio I could run any direction for a free organ. This just so happened to be one of over a dozen organs I acquired on my quest for the ultimate collection. When you've been spoiled by real Hammond tone wheels it's hard to accept a Hammond draw bar organ without the real deal. I even got rid of my nice 1981 Hammond Elegante because I preferred my Gulbransen Rialto II organ's draw bars, and they weren't even trying to sound Hammond like. As far as these early 80's spinets I do like my Kawai KX430 a lot.

Ed Vodicka's album on the Conn is one I have been after for a long while, sadly, buying LP's from the US is way too expensive due to the crazy shipping costs - I am always on the look out for it here in the UK. If you are happy to upload a file of it somewhere, I will happily make a video, providing YT's copyright checking system allows its use as a public upload. My email address is in my profile should you wish to be an OJ material contributor. 😁😎

My first Lowrey Holiday had probably around 40 valves (tubes). It was a joy to play and a failure that was too difficult for modern solid-state engineers to understand forced its sale. It was during a trip to one of the midlands organ centres (for some of those 6X8A tubes) that I encountered the MX-1 and had a brief play. Utterly fascinating machine, and I still like the sound today. Local dealers were either selling the Technics U series (They were a Thomas dealership originally) or Kawai range, and my Aunt was a big fan of the Wurlitzer D series and after a Wurlitzer of my own I went Wersi, that's another story in itself but here I am some decades on after playing a family member's new old Symphonic Holiday yesterday which brought back memories of the Lowrey Sound. Happy New Year for 2024 👋

Philips, yes, but all the writing is in what I think is Czech. Is this made for export? Or did Philips have a factory in Czechoslovakia? I'm guessing from the valves that this is sometime in the 1930s.

Please please please don't wind the wires of the resistors and capacitors around and around the tags, because it makes it hard to unsolder them all these years later when the radio is being restored ! A very interesting film, as a radio restorer and collector I found it fascinating to watch.

Frank Pellico and Juan Torres pretty much mastered the 70's pop organ sound with the great high fidelity Hammond X-66 organ. Bass guitar always sounds so good with the X-66. Only 1,000 X-66's were made and yet there are mediocre mass produced keyboards that command more collector value. It's frightfully skewed what little respect the coolest sounding / greatest looking musical instrument commands. For this reason I'll just keep my X-66 until I'm gone.

Franks judicious use of the “Hammond arpeggiator” on “For The Good Times” and “Speak Softly Love” makes all those cascading bell tones so effortless. The arpeggiator was an invention by Hammond engineers that looked like a golden hair comb mounted between the manuals that you run your thumb (or multiple fingers) up and down and combined with whatever chord you’re playing in the left hand, creates those running glissandos. Absolutely ingenious 1960’s tech.

Thanks for posting this album! I have this one and several others from this chapter in Franks long and storied career. This is directly from what he would be playing nightly for two decades at the Matterhorn Supper club in Palos Park, IL. Frank is a dear friend to many in the Chicago regional theatre organ community. ❤️🎶
