Outbreak has probably one of the most diverse soundtracks there is. It conveys horror during the quieter moments, when you don’t know what’s around the corner. This tune plays during several cutscenes during Outbreak minus the beat. To me it conveys the chaos quite well, like in the cutscene at the end of Hellfire where you see fires breaking out all over Raccoon City. The ending theme ‘Extermination’ conveys the desperation of that final escape from the city and the tragedy of the bombing before it switches to a more hopeful tune during the best endings. And the intro? Could not be a more perfect theme. It’s mournful, which is nicely contrasted by the scenes of Birkin slaughtering the USS team that was sent to collect G. For all the conniving of Umbrella and the horror of G unleashed, it foreshadows the upcoming outbreak and the tragic consequences for 100,000 people. Remake this game. But the soundtrack is perfect as it is. It doesn’t need to be changed. And in the unlikely event it is ever remade and they change the music, please let it be with the option to switch to classic.

My favorite part when this music plays is André promising to give his life for Oscar some day. It's such a tragic foreshadowing of the how things would end. It makes me so emotional.
