i hear good things about UW as a band but after seeing this im not so sure. WSU drumline destroys them. would they be the better band as well?

I have to agree with wsubrent, it is comparing apple to oranges. but In my opinion its like comparing the line from the movie "Drumline" to a DCI line. And as a DCI fan, WSU wins. Plus the WSU uniform is so much better looking. I like the fact the UW uniform has W's on both sides, its like a warning pertaining to what your about to hear

So this is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard, we played it in my 7th grade band. I noticed that in this band there is one major problem. Everyone is hitting their notes and rhythms but no one is moving their phrases or anything. It sounds so much better when people don't just play the music and actually play it musically. Other than that great job

@smileyfan16 i think that they are rushing a tad, but i almost believe that the conductor is contributing to the fault: his motions and directing styles aren't very annunciated... thus leading to the students not having as strong of a visual metronome

i think they sound beautiful. my school is playing this for Large group competition and it doesn't sound like they're rushing it at all. my school is playing it much faster and we sound horrible lol

try being in 7th grade and being first chair horn when you've only been playing french horn for 1 year and being the most important instrument

I'm playing this for school band. I'm in the seventh grade, can anybody help me with measure 25, that's our only issue is 25-33 and 41 to the end. this is like my second favorite song we're doing. These guys do awesome. Hey, check out the Japanese kids, their awesome. they don't even have to look at their music, they learn it all by ear it's amazing!!! And clarinet on this song SUCKS!!! lol, take it from someone who knows how difficult it is.

I played this song in my high school band (I played flute) 2 years ago when I was a sophomore. Man, we did an amazing job. We combined 2 bands together, and the piece sounded so beautiful. So beautiful, I almost cried.

This was a lot of fun playing with the WSU drumline. I was impressed with WSUs line: clean, great technique, and really nice warmups/cadences. Waaay better than I remember them being a few years ago. =) As for putting our drums up, well...this was suppose to just be a relaxed and fun show for all our fans. We were kickin back and enjoying WSUs performance. =P Thanks for the video! I hope this is something we continue to do at future Apple Cups!
