I've read on more than one occasion that this model was intended to have disappearing headlamps. However, there were production delays and they hastily manufactured a very deep chrome bezel to accommodate the already designed fender that was intended to house the mechanism and the lid.

I own a 05-946 with a stroker motor natural aspirated convertible that has a 465 hp special build engine and it’s a 311 cu by brenspeed engineering and later they built a 321 cu in engine

Wait.. You had a complete paint correction done but you didnt have the rock chips (looks like 150) fixed on the front end? Just like a dealer... So full of garbage!! And like always... way overpriced.. That was painful to watch...
