Dick was the most talented charismatic innovative guy that could take complete control of the accordion and make you swoon cry & embrace his music. There, will never be another that could compare. Of course I'm biased......love you still Dick. Rest in peace.

The forever legendary entertainer ~ "Dick Contino" never failed to WOW his audiences! Though there were (and still are) many fine ACcordionists, "CONTINO" had that special sumthin' (like ability & star aPpeal), like no other in the 'ntire world. "Dick Contion" not only made his ACcordion s♪ng, he made our hearts s♪ng too!! [:///:]

It's Daddy-O! I would've rather heard him sing "Rock Candy", aka "The High Pants Song".

Thanks Romeo ... I happened to speak to Dick about 2 weeks after this TV appearance. He said ... " Hey, I played the American Music Awards " ... and I said ... "WHAT, are you kidding ? I can't believe I missed it !! " I didn't have a gig that night and I was actually in my practice room working on new numbers while my beloved friend was kicking ass on Network TV ! After all these years, I'm seeing what I missed ! Thanks ... SJ

It will always be argued who the greatest accordion player was of all-time; Charles Magnante, Myron Floren, Anthony Galla-Rini and many, many others. Even Myron Floren was asked years ago who was the best? And he said, "Oh no question, Dick Contino!" And so great to see Dick Contino's long time conductor, Corky Bennett, chiming in. My favorite Dick Contino medley was, Volare, Valencia and Paree.

Jo Ann Castle could stonk Myron the accordion, her technical ability on the accordion was ahead of Myron.

Call it horrible and bad but he was the ultimate entertainer. Don’t you see the charisma, the showmanship, the audience eating it up. He played what the people wanted to hear.
