200# era was something different. And that amtrak race was purposefully done like that.

The fact that most of these train can still happen today with how BNSF is with their locomotives is wild

0:20&0:40 are possible comparisons of both csx and ns today , csx having a efficient amount of power and little leaser power or foreign power and norfolk southern having a lot of leased power as of recently.

One of these fire breathing monsters passed through Conway Arkansas on the Union Pacific mine line during the fair parade one year. I watched it as it passed by.

This is one thing I regret never doing was making a trip down to the Hoosier sub in the mid 2000s. Granted I was an otr truck driver at the time and my time off was limited but still should've taken the 4 hour drive on a day off to catch some action with the semaphores. Great video and documentation.

Been watching this particular video for many years. I always come back to the scene at 15:20. Idk if the horn got stuck, but that's prob the best Leslie RS3L sound off I've ever heard, bouncing off the walls of the cliffs.

For you who are reading this my uncle is with FRA and this comes from the top. NS filed and was approved to bike trail the last 20 miles of this line. The bridge over the Scioto River has collapse piers and because of years of flooding a Complete replacement is needed But this is NOT going to happen. 50 million is needed and with this area always having flooding problems and No business pass Rarden it's not worth the time and money and that's why CET does't want this end of the line.

The Chillicothe "station" used to be the club house. It was where crews would overnight before returning on a job to their home. It became the station when the wooden station behind where the photographer stood, burned in '59 or '60. My Dad & 3 other kids got a subcontract in the 1930s to hand dig the basement. The dirt was hauled away by mule and horse. In the '60s & early '70s on warm nights, many people from North Chillicothe (offical name until merging with Chillicothe) would filter down to the station at "train" times to see who was going and coming on the many passenger trains. This built a sense of community. I was always surprised how many people we would meet from our life in Peoria. My family did not believe in AC back then. (The houses were designed to be cool in summer, shaded by trees and warm in winter. So the heat was not bad.) But the windows must be kept open day and night, except in driving rain. I definitely miss falling asleep to the switcher horns moving cars around in the yards and hearing hot shot freight quickly dropping off and taking on crews.

I don’t think the Amtrak 156, 66, 822, and 184 aren’t be able to be repaired. So it’s gonna have to be scrapped or replaced into Phase V.

Any way i do miss that nice blue yellow engine and the rest of that train set which I haven't seen that kind of Santa Fe before always Red and silver. But it was nice that had blue and yellow Santa Fe train set

My 5 th favorite train the Santa Fe beautiful red and silver train which is awesome. Long time ago when I was 14 or 15 years old i had Santa Fe train set but instead of red and sliver it was Blue and yellow quite interesting. But unfortunately the rails cars and the train engine derailed off the bridge and broke. Sadly the engine was ruined and couldn't work any more and my cars broke too. Couldn't keep it so I fortunately my mom told me also the grandmother told me to throw out in the garage. So I carefully looked at it see how bad it is broken and couldn't get it fixed so I unfortunately i had to throw it out rotten shame it was a nice beautiful blue and yellow engine and nice train set too
