I think it's cause I am still getting use to him. His R2 reminds me of whenever Megumi summons an animal so I didn't want to drain my bars but at the same time the damage deal would've made up for it. Long story short: I'm a noob

Tbh this game is fire, domain expansion is very true and the enemies being stunned instead of being on the domain is very balanced, since this isnt a free roam game.
