Is kapooka more of a better experience or more of a negative one? It looks awesome, but I’m worried about the harassment and physical abuse if there is to that extreme

Brings back good memories of holidays in the area, I camped there with my dog last time I visited Charters towers a few years back. Did you happen to see the old cemetery on the left before you get onto the highway? Cheers mate.

Hey thanks for the videos mate, dont suppose you could mark on a map and post a pic or send me a picture the track you went in on from Laura and which beach you camped on, Im heading up there this August and would love to check it out thanks.

Hi mate, thanks for watching the videos. I always take the road just after Laura that goes through Lakefeild National Park. You go over Kalpowar Crossing and keep following the road to the start of the Cape Melville track and Starcke track. You can't miss the beginning of the Cape Melville track, it starts where the good dirt road ends. I have stayed at all of the camping areas at Cape Melville and found Oyster Catcher the best as far as Mozzies and Sand flys go.

A truly magical spot and some of the best fishing around especially if the wind plays ball and you can get out to the reef/islands offshore. Can't remember exactly where but not too far from that plane wing at low tide on some shallow reef are two radial aircraft engines and they are still in pretty good nick considering. Story goes that many planes went down in the area due to running out of fuel whilst heading back to base during the war. Cheers for the series 👍

I too was 22 PL in early 2006. Townsville is a great spot. I did from 2006 to 2010 there and then 2016 till end of 2019 there. Would love to go back but I've done my time in remote locations

Thanks for your service mate. I was in 22 PL in 1997 when I first joined before heading of to the infantry for 7 years then I got out and re-enlisted in 2008 and was in 22 PL again before heading of to transport for 8 years. I did recruit course twice because of the amount of time I was out between stints.
