Hello ☺️ New Rokinon 35 1.4 II came out. Maybe you can make another comparison with new rokinon (samyang) 35 1.4 II and Sigma 35 1.4. This your comparison is one of the best on KZbin 🫶

Cheers Andrew! For anybody on A7III having those option GREYED OUT, you fix it by going to the first Tab ini the Menu, page 1 and set the FILE FORMAT to JPEG (if you kep it on RAW or RAW/JPEG the zoom settings will still be greyed out. By setting it to JPEG only, you enable the Zoom settings and you then can change it to Clear Image Zoom.

Can you use ciz and crop mode for stills?

So you can use APSC lenses (i have sigma trio) and actually upgrade from a6xxx to A7iii? Does it better job overall? 🙆🙂
@AndrewBoonVisuals2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use apsc lenses on full frame in crop mode. Quality is very similar but the difference is resolution. Apsc camera like a6xxx have 24mp. A7iii has 24mp in full frame but only 10mp in crop mode.
@MitjaMulec2 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBoonVisuals what about video quality? Is A7iii sharper and better in low light with APSC lenses? 🙆🙂 Then i have all answers... 🙂

If this is accurate , then y use s log3?
@AndrewBoonVisuals3 жыл бұрын
Slog is for when you need to squeeze every bit of dynamic range out of the footage and have time to grade it. Both have there place depending on the type of work you do.
@umiumi26383 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBoonVisualsunderstood. but if your comparison was almost exact, then doesnt the benefits of s cinetone out weigh the cons when compared to alot more time being invested in post with s log 3? If cinetone can be edited alot quicker and almost produce the same outcome, then is slog 3 worth it?
@AndrewBoonVisuals3 жыл бұрын
@@umiumi2638 it would be situation dependent. Yes, you can minimally grade cinetone to match slog. This works best if you have proper exposure or control of lighting. Since the contrast is baked into cinetone, if your exposure is off, say highlights or shadows clipped, it may not be possible to bring them back to look like slog. Since slog is flatter to begin with, you have a little more room for those highlights and shadows to be off if that makes sense. Both are great with slightly different workflows. I mostly use cinetone for my KZbin stuff and slog for client work.

Why there isn't crop mode on apsc cameras?
@AndrewBoonVisuals3 жыл бұрын
Good question. When a full frame camera goes into crop mode, it uses an apsc size of the sensor to punch in. Since an apsc cam is already apsc sensor size, it can't crop in more for crip mode. Hope that helps
@adokapo3 жыл бұрын
@@AndrewBoonVisuals I know that. But there is plenty of apsc cameras that crops in to shoot for example 4k or 4k in higher fps. I found this feature very useful and wish that everyone includes it in all kind of cameras. Since there isn't really reason to not to.
@AndrewBoonVisuals3 жыл бұрын
@@adokapo oh man I agree. Some of the Sony apsc cams have clear image zoom but the option to digitally crop is so handy

Thanks. I used to be into photography about 25-30 years ago and now got a7iii. I made the mistake of buying Sony 18-105 lens, thinking "E-mount" meant it was fine...Wrong!. When I figured it out too late, I thought the crop factor would be terrible and missed using the lens to get photos of the volcano here in Saint Vincent and used only my cell phone instead. I am still trying to figure out how to best use this combination. What would you do? What are all the limitations?

Hey! I want to throw a 70-200 (one that has IS) on this camera. If I rig it out with heavy enough stuff, will I get stable shots with a top handle do you think!? Or should I be going for a mirrorless cam like the S1h with IBIS?! Thank you so much.
@AndrewBoonVisuals3 жыл бұрын
It will definitely be stable enough for most uses. I will never replace a gimbal but for normal handheld and tripod/monopod stuff it should be fine with the IS on the lens.
