At 11:28 when you’re talking about not sending mix busses 7,8,9 and 10, does that mean that those mix busses will stay on the local outputs 7,8,9 and 10 while all the other mix busses will be sent to the stage box? If so, does that also mean that outputs 7,8,9 and 10 will be blank on the stage box if they’re being used locally? I’ve been trying to figure this out for a while and this video is extremely helpful, but I’m still struggling to wrap my head around it. Thanks!

You can send a mix out the local XLR outs and then you can make completely different, separate routing in the USER Out to send to your stage across AES50. Not to make it too confusing, but let’s say MixBUS 5 is set to Out 5, then you can send that (by default) out XLR 5, but then change its orientation in the USER Out section and send it to the stage box on any available output so maybe it goes to Output 7 on the stage box. It’s still the same mix just being routed to different locations.

+ since our band has 8+ members in it, I was wondering how can we have each musician to have their own in-ear mixes while using the behringer X32 console
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 3 күн бұрын
You can build mixes in the console using MixBUSes and then route them out in various different ways. If you have a small platform console (only 8 XLR outs) you will usually reserve 2 for Main LR output and then have 6 remaining outs for IEMs. In addition to that you have 6 AUX outs (1/4”) that you can use to send mixes out of the console which can also send signals to IEMs

@@AllamHouse so in total there would be possibly 14 connections for our IEMs? And there would still be enough XLRs for our speakers? (We only have 3-4 speakers that are pointed to the audience)
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 2 күн бұрын
The small platform mixers have 14 physical outputs and usually 2 are designated for your main mix (L and R). If you have multiple speakers for your house sound you will most likely just connect them together in a mono or stereo setup which will not require more outputs.

Hello, came across this video and I am tracking until right at the very end. We use the outputs 1-16 to send to an aviom distributor so those are not available to send my bus to logic. Is there a different way we can route those to outputs?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 8 күн бұрын
If the goal is to send your broadcast mix (built on a stereo MixBUS pair) out the console across USB and into a streaming device then you can use the User OUTS section to build a custom setup which takes your broadcast mix out User OUT 1/2 and then go to Routing > Card and select "User OUT 1-8" to be matched with Card Outputs 1-8. This will take away any need of setting the mix into the Routing > Outs area that it sounds like are all taken up.

x32 aux audio rca outputs controls?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 11 күн бұрын
I'm not sure exactly what you are asking with this statement, but the RCA connections on the back of the console are linked with both the AUX In 5/6 or the AUX Out 5/6. If you want to use the RCA outputs you just send your desired mix to AUX Out 5/6 and you are all setup. If this isn't the question you were asking, feel free to rephrase it and I can give it another go.

Please can you do the version of XR18? Can I record and livestream as well on xr18?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 11 күн бұрын
The XR18 is a similar concept for the setup, but obviously a different interface. You will need to send your broadcast mix out USB 1/2 and then you can send the rest of your inputs out to your DAW. This video discusses the fact that you will have two less inputs that you can record into your DAW (across USB) since the broadcast mix is taking up the first two slots. Hopefully this gets you moving in the right direction, but if not I can see about adding a specific video into my list to be made.

Great Video, Quick question what if you have a matrix setup ( vocal and band subgroup) ? Would this applied as the same since your main mix is a reflection of FOH?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 19 күн бұрын
If you are running a matrix you have less control of the specific inputs (pastor in this case) , but some people do have a single Bus dedicated to just altering what is going into their Matrix from the mains and using teh Bus to augment (turn up) certain elements. In the end you have to use an additional Bus to do this and at that point I just recommend using a Bus for your broadcast anyway.
@biglu91
@biglu91 23 күн бұрын
So what happens to the matrix now, do we just turn down the fader and focus on the stream mix bus? We've assigned the user to the mix and the card out, so the matrix goes nowhere at this point?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 23 күн бұрын
I'm assuming you are working on a broadcast mix and there are multiple ways to build your mix. Each style has its' pros and cons and in general those options are: MixBUS, Matrix, DAW. A MixBUS gives you the ability to have an independent mix (pre-fader) managed by a second sound tech or a relative mix from your house based on settings in a post-fader MixBUS (my preferred method) which is best if you only have one sound tech. A Matrix allows you to start with predetermined MixBUS mixes (many people group vocals, band and drums into different buses) and mix those according to the desired output. You can also start with your house mix since that is officially considered a MixBUS. A DAW takes your inputs out the card, into a computer and allows someone to manage the sounds in a computer to build a refined mix. It all comes down to what is best for your group, how many sound techs you have at your events and what gear you have available. If you were running a Matrix and are switching to a MixBUS setup then your Matrix will not be used as it was previously, but (in theory) you will have more control over your mix using a MixBUS.

I've had to pull it down a bit more; the big problem is less the levels coming in, but a rhythmic clicking sound coming in constantly. By bringing down the gain in Mic1, and then adjusting the output from the X32, it's less worse, but still not great. I haven't found a complete solution.
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse 29 күн бұрын
I would check the following items… 1) X32 sample rate. Make sure it is set to 48.0k in the settings tab 2) Put headphones in the X32 and solo your broadcast mix. Confirm there is no clicking happening at the console. 3) Connect your X32 to the Mic2 input and see if it clears up the issue. Sometimes the Mic inputs can go bad. 4) Try different cables and make sure they aren’t running next to electrical cables potentially picking up noise. I use a Y cable that is 2 XLRs into 1 3.5mm jack providing balanced cables leaving the console and going directly into the ATEM.
@ytelt
@ytelt 29 күн бұрын
@@AllamHouse Thanks for the suggestions. i've used different cables, but what isolated the ATEM as the issue is connecting an output from my laptop directly to the ATEM Mic1 input -- i got the same clicking there. That also eliminated the possibility of a ground loop issue, as the laptop was running on battery. I'll try the Mic2 input, as well.

Assuming you are talking about the small red lights near the XLR inputs, those indicate when phantom power is turned on for that specific channel. You only need this for certain types of mics that require phantom power (48v) and some DI boxes that also require this to be functional. Typically, you don’t want to have it on unless needed.

What awesome timing! Our church just purchased an X32 about 6 weeks ago. I'm the musician (keyboards), we do not have a sound engineer. Anyway, it fell on me to wire everything up. I should mention we do stream our services. I took things as far as I could based upon my learnings from yours and other KZbin instructional videos. However, I finally had to call in a professional for help. He helped me with all of my questions regarding the X32. We are now good to go audio wise. However, he said we were completely antiquated how we were doing our audio for our video streaming. He recommended this device and said this would make us state of the art. Although, I personally am not sure what it even is or does, I just found it amazing that a couple of days later here you are doing a video on it. Outstanding!!😊

Not a coincidence. The ATEM is a tool that can combine video signals and audio signals, provide layers and other features while encoding your broadcast and even sending it to the internet. There are a number of versions of this device and they work really well when setup properly.
@DavidRosario69
@DavidRosario69 Ай бұрын
Thanks for this video. I have just proposed this exact setup to my church but I also included the option of using a dedicated analog-to-digital box to convert the signal from our M32 to digital and getting into the streaming computer directly. That would be picked up by OBS and not depend on the ATEM for audio at all. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to doing it that way?
@AllamHouse
@AllamHouse Ай бұрын
There are a few different ways to handle this setup and two that I prefer over your proposed setup. The reason I might pick one over the other is due to cable length or other location factors that could sway me one way or the other. 1) Send the audio from the console into the ATEM as explained in this video. I personally use a dual XLR cable to 3.5mm headphone jack so the cables plug into my local outputs on the console and travel on balanced cables into the ATEM. This allows the ATEM to handle the combination of the audio and video and any adjustments can be made in that device. Both audio and video are then sourced inside OBS and off your signal goes. Keep in mind, if you have the ATEM Mini Pro, it can stream directly to the internet for you and you don’t need OBS. 2) Sending audio across USB into OBS keeps the signal in the digital realm and has less conversions and gain settings needed. You can use the card on the back of the console and route your broadcast mix out the card to the OBS machine. This video walks through the three options to get audio out of the console and the necessary settings to make them work. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnjXYq1rfpyVorMsi=vxuwBUKi-If3T2I9
