How unfortunate that there's no mention of the advantages/disadvantages of the TYPES of leashes. Therefore, this video was of no use to me.

Just so you know.......pulleys on boats are called blocks, not pulleys. And rope is called line. Thought you might like to know considering that your whole business is about selling marine/freshwater products.

These are a great idea, BUT, they are not robust enough. Mounted on an 2023 Outback, they rod holder in a Miniport barely hangs on. 1st problem is the metal tabs that slide into the tracks are waaaaay to small. The miniport comes right off the track if you bump it or the rod/rod holder. Not enough purchase on the tracks. These need to be beefed up a bit man.

For 36 dollars, you would think the measurements would be right, but it gets progressively worse after the 6 inch mark... The numbers have to be highlighted by a sharpie they give you as well, or you can't see it that well 🙄

What size are the rivets? I know you say they came standard in your kit, but mine didn’t have those and I’d like to install them into my kayak because I have no access to the inside of it for screws. Thanks!

Anybody out there know if these work well for sea going stability on a OT big water 13.2? It's a heavy kayak and I am not sure if the floats are bit on the underpowered side. Would how the the side arms are attached stand up for to flexing on the RB inserts? Sure look like they are fine on lighter kayaks/lake use, but I would love to hear if anybody has salty experience on a heavy yak?

I just installed another @yakgear #yakgear anchor trolley on my 2nd kayak. This video should be the template for "how to install your ABC or 123" anything. The enclosed pulley is superior to other products I evaluated. Great product, great video. No fluff, no filler, no upbeat rock music, not needed, just good info.

Thank you for this instructional video. My paddle clip came without installation instructions, but your video made installation very easy. One thing I did wrong!...I tried to push the rubber well plugs in the hole before adding the bolt thru the paddle clip - AND THE PLUG WENT RIGHT THRU - lost forever inside the hull!! 🙁 Yikes - lesson learned.

I know this is an old video, but I have not had any luck finding a rivet gun that will fit inside the cleats to rivet the cleat to the kayak. Any idea or link to purchase?
@conan950 Жыл бұрын
Use a couple washers/nuts between the rivet and the gun to fill the empty space
@American-Plague Жыл бұрын
@conan950 Isn't that going to leave a spike of metal protruding from the rivet instead of cutting it flush, IF it even pulls the rivet correctly to begin with?

Got the exact same kit. Didn’t come with screws and lock nuts nor did it come with tri grip rivets, wish I knew that instead of buying a rivet gun kit based off of this video. Still a helpful video and seemingly nice anchor trolley, just wish it came with what I expected from this video.

What are the pros and cons of running this setup in the front vs the middle or closer to the rear? Have an Ascend 133X for fishing that I’m considering a set of this to add extra stability and for light offshore days. I have a bow mounted trolling motor and I feel the front could use some extra stability but don’t want to loose casting area.

I second this question. The lack of a response make me question if they just want us to buy the front and back mounts (whichever is not on). Idk, but I would like a nice answer to this question. My thought have also been around the weight distribution of the kayak

What makes it better than the Cabelas Northern Flight Kayak blind?
@highplainsoutdoorsman45662 жыл бұрын
I believe the Northern Flight blind is made mostly to fit the Ascend 12' kayaks and maybe you can get it to fit over other 12' yaks. This blind is kind of a fits all for kayaks and canoes from 12-14'

High Plains Outdoorsman Thanks for the reply! Do you think the YakGear would fit on 10ft kayaks or would it be too big?
@highplainsoutdoorsman45662 жыл бұрын
@@xxBowman1 I would guess that it's too long. You always try some sew work or something with it. IMO I would either use an old layout blind or a concealment blanket, or netting to cover a 10'

Without a plate underneath the side deck and SS bolts fitted/bolted through I wouldn't trust these to not work there way out, actually better too with a full width brace for extra strength. You had a lined out floor with what looks like vinyl floor covering, I'd have lined the bow and stern with that then the outriggers with the lines also: I'm sure most houses or yards have some sort of lined/paved/decked floor to work off to line things up properly rather than by eye alone. Anyway, the floats themselves seem fine.

It looks like the doors would flop down into the water when you swing them open to shoot. Then you would have wet fabric laying on top of you. Does this happen?
@jerronwosel8183 жыл бұрын
It would if you are hunting open water. If you're tucked up against a shoreline, more than likely you are dealing with far less water depth and should not have that big of an issue. Not to mention if you are tight to cover, the surrounding vegetation or brush would keep the doors from flopping all the way down. Not saying it wouldn't happen still, but it would reduce the amount of water brought up onto you. Plus, you could always hold the doors at an angle and let all excess water run off of them before closing again.
