Nearly the perfect performance to my ears, and I know dozens and dozens of them. Humble, precise, moving - feel like the keyboard player slowly disappears behind the music, I love it. Working on it for 2 weeks now, and this is where I dream to go ! Thank you.

How do you like the MMF-1S compared to the MMF-2?
@Dudadius2 ай бұрын
MMF-2 more traditional shapes but sounds awesome and is stereo! MMF1s, super flexible shapes with spacing control, saturation modes and built in vca. Lurv them both! MMF6 is also great. Gnarly.

Hey, no pressure, but what about 28 some time soon? I've been learning it and recently had a bit of a breakthrough (all to do with relaxation for the trills and actually learning properly the crossed hand bit in the first half of the first half - it's so great when the Rubik's cube clicks into a vaguely credible pattern) and so am interested to hear your approach. Until the breakthrough, I can't say I felt particularly sympathetic to 28 and 29, which are a bit different to most of the rest (though see also the end of 23), but I'm coming around to 28, at least.
@Dudadius3 ай бұрын
Ha! Thanks for checking in. I've been focused on a couple of other projects, but still practicing everyday. 28-30 are more or less ready to go. Yes, 28 and 29 are different beasts and I think your advice about relaxing is good. I want to play those trills cleanly and accurately; not just a trilly wash off sound. Almost there! And for 29, the interlocking passages also need to retain clarity. Easy to become a blur. Hopefully later in June I'll get them up. Then I want to re-record the whole work for audio release. I have a specific approach in mind.

Saw these back before Xmas but was away from home without opportunity to listen carefully. Never meaning to carp but I am wondering if there's a semiquaver's-worth missing in bars 26 and 27 - to me the left hand comes in a semiquaver (16th note) early in the second beat each time. Happy New Year and looking forward to more. Home stretch, surely.

Perhaps, interpretation? You are probably right. I'm continually refining the performances. Kinda strange to lock them down in a recording. Thanks for listening.

Top notch, as always! Care to share a few words on the "heavy fx chain" ? Eg, did you do that with modular, or was done on the computer? The way the performance starts is out of this world...
@Dudadius Жыл бұрын
Thanks much. The rhythm is primarily a pass I did on the Soma Pulsar 23. I started with the envelopes wide open and the on-board Pulsar fx feeding back, then dialed everything back to reveal the underlying rhythm...that was the idea, anyway. The Pulsar fx section is like another instrument; between the ability to play with the pitch aspects of the delay and the gnarly feedback, you can really perform it. I did another pass of the Tip Top hi-hat, using the same approach. It was going through a filter and also a Intellijel Rainmaker, the latter being another 'secret sauce' effect. Only plug-ins I used in the DAW were for mastering.
@TheHollermann Жыл бұрын
@@Dudadius Thank you! The Pulsar was on my shopping list already, gotta learn that one. What kind of effect the Rainmaker doing here? Tap delays?
@Dudadius Жыл бұрын
@@TheHollermann Here is a detailed look at how I use the Comb delay side; altering the number combs, their feedback, etc... Used this same technique on the Tip Top 909 Hat. It's also on one of the melodic arps.

A bit more pesante than I've imagined it. Thanks also for 18. 20 is next hand-crossing challenge but not so tightly knotted as 18,. Looking forward to 21 which I think of as being quite contemplative. YMMV.
@Dudadius2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can interpret 19 in many different ways. I was thinking of it in contrast to the ones around it. 20 is gymnastic in my mind. All muscle memory. 21 is one of my absolute favorites. The chromaticism is so classy.
