The worst aspect is that digimon kept changing the formula. Pokémon games are the catalyst of everything Pokémon. And they're the exact same for almost 30 years. People who have kids now can enjoy the same things as their kids the way they did it when they we're kids. Digimon on the other hand keeps reinventing themselves, trying to change the formula, be something unique... It's cool and all but that way you loose your former audience and basically (like stated in the video) keep dividing your Fanbase into smaller fan bases. Pokémon has 20+ years over digimon, since they basically have to catch up. But I will forever be a digimon fan boy.

The game engine I used is not compatible with exporting to other platforms. A publisher has already told me that they would be able to get a sequel on the Nintendo Switch if I made a sequel game.

It being mobile was my biggest concern as the stigma around mobile gaming and it not being a full game will drive away people who would normaly had given it a chance. Either way cool to see a pokelike that tickles the fan's fancy.

One of memorable experience I had with the first episode of digimon is when Tai asked the babies: What are you? Digimon say: We’re digimon digital monsters! At 10 years old I was like yeah this is a giant ripoff! Being older I appreciate digimon more. I always hated the gotta catch ‘em all motive in Pokémon. I was content in raising competitive Pokémon. That “raising” mechanic got me hooked & wished game freak focused more on that instead another bunch forgettable new monsters. Playing digimon cyber sleuth than playing the 20th vpet made me more appreciative of digimon.

There is an evolution and leveling system, but you don't get exp from battling, you have to feed the Kardmis Dragon City style to level them up. You do get player exp from trainer battles though, and getting the food and leveling items isn't much of a hassle since you can get them two different ways in game, and through rewards just by playing the game.

Tbh, I couldn't care a single bit about the actual Digimon or the fights that happened involving them, I only stayed around purely for the interactions between human characters since they can sometimes hit close to home, like divorced parents and living separately from your sibling, or finding out that your parents died and you were adopted. The reason I like Digimon anime over Pokemon is because the humans, actually feel human, even if their interactions are exaggerated a bit.

The ui give it off its a mobile live service game .which sucks because the characters and creatures looks cool but i don't think anyone would try something that is like pokemon regardless it has voice acting or not.

Most of the successful monster taming games have a lot in common with Pokemon. Not counting the game series that started around the same time like megami tensei and dragon quest monsters.

Honestly the formating of this video was amazing. I've seen people post shorts of reviews but they are often "too short" and go by quickly. Other reviews take to long. This review was great told me everything I needed to know and didn't waste my time. You should make more game reviews good video

One thing I would change is how physical attack and special attack affect the moves. I would create other category of moves beside "physical" and "special", that uses weighted values of both. I would make this change because in most of the cases, the Pokemon lesser used attack is completely useless. That would make things more balanced.

It is. The problem was that once the developers got their money, they stopped caring that much. Players wanted them to continue and expand on the universe, but they had no interest in that. This is part of why the game D.A.M. Champion was created. Sadly, it had to start from a shoe string budget, and there is no multiplayer.

I don't believe so because it's not on my switch playlist. Most monster taming games are on PC. Switch and Mobile are next popular platforms.
