If it had a mesh or even a plastic lid it could be tilted forward to allow more product release

That's in the way of loading it. This thing will go through it as fast as you could shovel.

Thanks, I've placed a piece of board inside the metal drum. The board is slightly larger than the drum''s opening. And then used a couple of long screws to attach the base of the outside mesh drum to the board. That's about it.

Thanks. For the exterior drum I've used mesh from some old grid mesh shelving system.

Livestock supply will have kinds of screen. I'd recommend 12 guage bull panels for the larger outside frame then whatever siE screen inside.
