@@builderman912 there are some glitches that happen from time to time in wrightsoft. Try closing the file, or restarting your computer. If nothing works you will have to start a new project and transfer your floor layout (right draw) through creating catalogs. I made a video about this process. @hvaceasymath10 күн бұрын
I agree. You can add an annotation at each door to represent “undercut” otherwise there should be Transfer Grilles. Usually we assume undercuts, however, in AutoCAD mechanical drawings the undercut symbol should be put for the mechanical floor plans.

@ undercut at least 2 inches for air transfer so not the way to do.
@hvaceasymath9 күн бұрын
yup, I agree. 3/4 or 1 in max to allow no more than 100 cfm or 75 recommended. In this case transfer grilles would be better or better yet jump ducts.

The same way we add ventilation overall (you can see this video as reference: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKm2hHemhNCNrbMsi=wdjc-dHsGTapHjUT). We have there options: Outside Air, HRV, and ERV. Hope this helps. Regarding to zoning, On Monday I will post a new video 👍.

Thanks for your comment. The table is something I created in excel and took a screen shot to explain the internal loads. Unfortunately it is not part of the program. Every home builder has their own tables and requirement for internal loads. However most of them refer to Manual J guidelines.

Hello, just little confused. Why is volume ft3 / min ?
@hvaceasymath2 ай бұрын
Great question. The volume is in ft3, and sensible heat in BTU. However, since we are taking about airflow we take into account time (which is in Hr or Min) and also sensible heat rate which is BTU/ h. As you can see, if we divide heat by time (Hr) then we need to divide the volume by time (min after a conversion factor of 60). Hope this helps.

@@hvaceasymath for house plans that have double line walls, how do i draw over the pdf to get the same width?
@hvaceasymath2 ай бұрын
@@RamSalinas-v6p sometimes that is a bit tricky, especially in the basements where the foundation is and the walls are concrete thick. Generally, I try to draw in the middle of the wall between the two lines. However I tried to maintain the overall dimension of the perimeter of the house which is exterior of the wall dimension. Keep in mind, we are safe, being conservative, so taking the exterior wall (the exterior line not interior line of the wall) of the perimeter works best. If you only take the interior side of the wall you would end up with smaller overall area.

@hvaceasymath5 ай бұрын
Thanks for your kind comment! To reference the Loads it is a great resource to check on the RIGHT-J WORKSHEET in wrightsoft. This is pretty much the ACCA Manual J Worksheet which doesn't account for lights in residential. In commercial projects (ACCA Manual N), lighting is very important measured in W/SF depending on the location. Refer for example to the Table C405.3.2.1 from the IECC-2018 to find LPD values (lighting power density) codes.iccsafe.org/s/IECC2018P5/chapter-4-ce-commercial-energy-efficiency/IECC2018P5-CE-Ch04-SecC405.3.2 Hope this helps.

We only select one wall because the software automatically will account for exterior walls. Interior walls don’t take part in the calculation. Technically, the software takes the expose walls in the perimeter of the house. In this case it takes the plan North wall and plan east wall since they are exposed. Because both walls are one type, we only put one type of wall (envelope properties are the same for both walls)
