@iamsimonmorris7 жыл бұрын
+Cee this is actually the large one which they discontinued in their wisdom. Crumpler have set lost the edge in the Photography department. They are just producing tired designs way overpriced. The 7 Million Dollar Home has jumper from $149 to $300. More than their brilliantly designed Bazillion Dollar home. The Large Pleasure Dome was $49 now the medium is $99. You would definitely need the medium to fit what you are asking about. I would say there are other brands producing far far superior bags.

For anyone stumbling on this video you should know that all of the concerns mentioned in this video had been addressed and resolved in the later MOD 54 mk27 version. I must add something to my last reply. Audio Technica and Denen, decided to let some of their products be produced in China. The Chinese developped the product, in this case the Audio Technica AT-LP60usb and the Denon DP200usb. These two are exactly the same, originating from the very same plant in Shenzen, China. So this decission lies was made by these two companies. The Chinese also buy brand names from companies that no longer exist or have its plants in the country they were based in long ago. And print that names on plain junk. And, consequently, fool customers. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in today. Money rules. Has always been that way as a matter of fact. Back in the old days strategies were different, products were developped with the customer in mind and companies were proud of the stuff they sold. The Chinese do things differntly and only we decide if we want that. Yes, real quality stuff is still available but it comes at a price. Look at the all new Technics SL-1200. MSRP is a whopping $3500! Worth it? I bet it is. Affordable? For the happy few. And that is the difference between now and then. The gap between rich and poor is getting wider and wider. All fueled by "the new thinking".
@iamsimonmorris4 жыл бұрын
..to add I had the 'NEW' Technics SL-1200...so disappointing and def not worth the money. Grab an older MK2/3/4. This was no way up to par. I sold mine after two months.
@leyland99998 жыл бұрын
@Simon Johnson. Thanks for your answer. The only thing I wanted to make clear is that the original is our reference. The AT looks exactly like the reference. This is my problem with so many products that come from China. In many cases the rule is "what you see isn't what you expect, despite the lower prices" . Why? Because although the price may be low, in the long run you might spend more money because the product isn't what you wanted it to be, despite its price tag should have told you. The Chinese are masters in copying, just like the Japanese were decades ago. Thing is, the Japanese eventually really made quality stuff, modelled after our requirements. Later on, the Japanese took over the industry completely, maintaining the high quality we got used to in the meantime. The Chinese may be doing the same in the near future but they still need our help, so they manufacture stuff after our instructions how to do it. What we see nowadays is that the Chinese simply buy quality brand names from OUR past. They simply print that name on junk stuff pretending the product has the same quality as our stuff from decades ago. People buy it, partly because of the quality they think will be obtained. Only to find out later the quality is bad, or at least less than the products we used to manufacture decades ago. This strategy is carried out all over the world, yes, the world is flooded with Chinese junk that may only last a year or so before it will break and will end up in the dust bin. This all partly goes for our Audio Technica turntable, too. I mean, the turntable is exeptionally well packed, is accompanied by very well written documentation and instructions. But the product itself doesn't live up to the expectations one thought, or may have thought, one would get. All judged by the presentation and marketing. I mean, if my company beared the name Audio Technica, I would never allowed my name to be printed on this turntable. Goes for brands like Denon, too. So Audio Technica isn't the only quality brand name that want to make money by selling volumes instead of quality.
@leyland99998 жыл бұрын
Before I go any further I would like to state the Audio Technica AT-LP120USB is, given its price, a very nice turntable. However, something that looks just like the original doesn't mean it has the same qualities as that original. In this case the Technics SL1200 series. I own both, that is, two Technics and one Audio Technica AT-LP120USB. So I know exactly what I'm talking about. For starters, nothing, and I mean noth a single part on the Audio Technica is the same, or has the same specs, as any part on the Technics. It just has the looks, nothing more. And that's where people might get confused. The plinth of the Audio Technica is entirely made of plastic. Good plastic but plastic nonetheless. So it gets its weight from a slab of heavy metal on the bottom of the plinth, whereas the weight of the Technics comes from the overall construction and the used materials. The plinth is also prone to acoustic feedback due to the dampening that isn't there at all. The tone arm of the Audio Technica is probably the most identical part, be it it has a badly constructed anti skate coiled spring, it is none working above 1.5 grams needle force. This goes for all units that I have seen so far. The motor on the Audio Technica is a mediocre affair, it works but it shows some hesitation finding the right speed again after cleaning the record with a brush. And it produces audible rumble and you can hear it running. Not so on the original. Then the torque. It just lacks torque when spinning. When starting up it is even quicker than the Technics and it stops quicker as well. The platter on both turntables is made of an alloy, but the platter of the Technics is lined with rubber underneath so it is less ringy, the platter of the Audio Technica is very ringy instead. And the platter of the Technics shows absolutely no wobble if properly seated, the platter of the Audio Technica does show wobble. Can be minimised by changing the position on the spindle but it can't be eliminated completely. The Audio Technica comes with a simple and undesired felt mat. It attracts dust and this dust is difficult to remove and it doesn't add any weight to the platter. It also will not dampen any metal resonances present in the platter. Then there is the wow and flutter. The Technics has the lowest possible w&f in its class and even way beyond other turntables that are in a much higher price range. The Audio Technica on the other hand shows only mediocre w&f. True, the list of features for the Audio Technica is longer, such as reverse play, instant quartz operation by pressing a button and, probably the most important added feature: 78rpm. All you need is a cartridge or needle for 78's. That raps it up. Now, like I stated in the beginning of my reply, that doesn't mean the Audio Technica is a bad player, not at all. But be aware that the extra money the Technics would set you back really is extra money well spent. And allthough the Technics isn't available new (it is back in production but this is not the same beast as the one that has been around for decades). So a good second hand that you got from a trusted source would be worth considering. So what could you do in order to improve the Audio Technica? Spend some cash on a thick rubber mat. The platter assembly will gain momentum and as a wanted side effect, w&f will be reduced too. Make sure the anti skate works. Now the only option you have here is investing in another cartridge, one that track at a maximum of 1.5 grams. Above that weight it simply won't work. The Audio Technica is made in China. Coming from exactly the same factory the ION and the like originate. Remember, the Chinese can manufacture quality stuff. But the price would probably be higher than a domestically product would have cost. Problem is that we in the West got rid of our quality brands. The brands sometimes still exist, the products on the other hand are well below the quality level we used to have back in the old days. I hope (mainly for the newbees that do not have the slightest idea what records are and what it takes to obtain quality reproduction from them) this comparison will shed some light on things. It always is better to set aside some extra money and be patient. The desire for upgrading will always be there, certainly in the long run. The Technics really doesn't need any upgrades at all, even if they are available. The Audio Technica can only be upgraded with the suggestions I gave. Anything more is a waste of money. Because you will enter the price range of better equipment.
@iamsimonmorris8 жыл бұрын
Cheer's for all that info. I agree with much of your points. Remember this is a budget turntable and I am looking at it from that angle. it definitely is N technics 1200 just a the Technical is no Michelle either. I am happy to have all 3 and some others in my collection. for the price however it is worth consideration. if your up to it a bit if DIY can improve its performance and give you an even more affordable and enjoyable turntable.
