I have 2 Osmo Action 1 and decided to upgrade to the OA5. Instead I went with the OA4 for $150.00 less and have zero regrets. Maybe one regret. I should've bought 2. 👍

I did the same and also got myself a Action 4 for Christmas. Great little camera. Just one thing to mention about the b-roll of the intro: Don't film close ups with action cameras. The minimum focus distance of the Action 4 is 40 cm and below that it just doesn't look sharp and your Smartphone can do way better.

Thanks for the close up tips. Definitely good to know.

Personally, I own both the Action 4 and 5...and have to say I like the 4 better as the build looks better, has pretty much all the functions of the 5 and the image that comes straight out of the body looks better out of the 4!

I haven't had any experience with the 5 but that's not the 1st time I've heard that. Sounds like getting the 4 was the right way to go. Thanks!

The Action 4 has a higher video bitrate and more natural color and HDR than the 5. Which is why I also bought the 4 instead on Black Friday special. I got mine at Best Buy for $299 because it's the adventure combo with 3 batteries, the batter charging case, selfie stick with cage and 2 connectors. The Action 5 has a muddier image and unnatural colors which is why I returned it. All action cameras suck at night/lowlight. The only thing I wish the 4 had is the OLED display and being able to connect two DJI Mic 2's at the same time via bluetooth, but one mic is okay too. I use my Pocket 3 when I want two mics. What kind of shop do you have? Is it just T-shirts and whatnot?
@russtaka18 күн бұрын
Sounds like the 4 was a great choice. Great deal too with that adventure combo. Yes it's a small shop with a revolving inventory based on small runs. Although the shop is structured on retail it is equally community safe space for entrepreneurs and creatives as well.

I've had the action 4 for close to a year. It more than satisfies all my videography needs. The action 5 is like a slightly upgraded version. I also own the pocket 2 and pocket 3, but for pov videography and daily footage capturing the action 4 has been a work horse. The pocket 3 is too delicate imo and I use it for close up shots of objects--which I generally just leave to my wife. The pocket 2 is an older piece of equipment that I used for shooting interviews. All these cameras are great. *Last week I bought the dji mic mini but it had some connectivity issues with the action 4 so I returned it (I have to reconnect every time I turn the camera off so it's not all that convenient when I'm doing action shots on the road). It might work better with the action 5 idk. I do have the dji mic 2 that came with the creator combo but it's a bit big for my pov biking videos so I'm still looking at alternatives. I suspect there isn't one.
@russtaka21 күн бұрын
Wow. It's great to hear you still like the 4 after a year. I wanted a pocket 3 but I keep hearing about how delicate it is. So I know that's probably not the best for me. Hopefully you find a mic that suits your needs. Mine works pretty well but I have to have a wire hanging out which isn't the best option. Maybe an alternative from DJI will come soon.
@nicholaslu406921 күн бұрын
@ the alternative is the new mic mini but I don’t think they had the action 4 in mind when they designed it. Until they solve the connectivity issue I will not be buying it again.

I can't blame all Footage on the camera. I'm just a novice. I do think that the footage in most situations falls between a phone and a mirrorless camera. For $200 it beats both in regards to pricing. Durability and portability also are huge factors. But I agree, it's not an FX3.

Man I got the same deal from Costco. That's crazy deal, so I actually got 2! This thing is a great camera. I shoot in studio with a Sony, and have the pocket 3 for outdoor vlogging and b-roll. I wanted an additional camera or 2 potentially for driving shots or different camera angles in studio. DJI has incredible image quality out of these tiny cameras, and having the ability to shoot in 10 bit log is huge.

But I think it's important we figure out what's a measurable success metric. And I completely agree our skills come together to make an amazing production hence why AI isn't able to ever recreate our unique skill sets in the way they came about. Anyways great framing and sound design and it was all so well put together.

@@russtakayea we got different goals. I’m making my videos for me and to cherish my life’s memories. If you take the video aspect of it out, how do you get more people to like you in general? They have to relate and be inspired to be more like you in someway I’d imagine. If being successful on KZbin to you means more views and likes and more of a following, gotta be careful not to fall into the trap of always seeking external validation. It will drive you into depression
@russtaka2 ай бұрын
@q4short that is really true. I have a business which unfortunately requires social media nowadays. The metrics can definitely spiral your mental state. I am trying hard to not need the external validation but it takes a little work for me to remember... but I'm trying.

@russtaka2 ай бұрын
Definitely possible although not suggested. It really should be filtered in a wash out booth. Also the last thing you want is emulsion to harden in your plumbing. Emulsion dries like Glue, and once built up, it's a nightmare. Maybe start off with a house outside (night time) until you get a hang of it.

Nothing better than a 'raw' and honest video like this. I've been creating for about the same amount of time as you mate and only recently in the last month or so has my channel started to gain a little bit of traction (1.4k subs in last 28days). I would honestly try using the 'promotion' feature on a couple of your favourite videos. I chose 'english' speaking countries in the settings and put £10 on a couple of them and those 5/10 videos have gained me about 800 subs and i've gotten an additional 600 or so from the algorithm then putting my video in front of more people naturally. That would be my advice! Good luck dude! 👍
