What is this trail called and how do you get here? I'm from aberdeen and was going to take the train to insch or bus to pitcable..

pretty much ride it all up to dubh loch but then about an hour of pushing up a fairly steep section and over roughish ground until you pick up path from Carn Bannoch you can ride most of it up over carn coire boidenach onto lochnagar.A wee push up the last bit. Wouldn't recommend this route without the usual mountain gear map and compass. Its a great fun descent. A couple of bits on the ladder down to the col at meikle pap are probably doable but I got off just to be on the safe side.

You seem to have cheeted a bit on teh framerate... OR you should work on your stamina with such a high rate of breath. Btw, passing pedestrians at that speed is NOT DONE. You will get us social riders banned.

What a twat. This path is for all to use. Riding like that will get us all banned from using the hill. If you want to go nuts head to pitfichie. I have been riding bennachie for years and in the last 3 i have started getting hassle. Wise up for gods sake before someone gets hurt

@scotch26 we did the circuit from Aboyne. Up the fungle road and then dropped down to birse castle and over to Tarfside along to the queens and up Mount keen. The descent down the glen tannar side is a bit rough at the top but doable and then a long fire track out of glentannar. Took us about 7 hours. If you go on the ecurrieneeps site they have it done in reverse. Would probably do it that direction next time as the descents are on better tracks.

@watcheternalonline I would say it would be a straight forward walk on good track. Popular place for walkers. Its reasonably hard work cycling up but well worth it for the descent!

Locked out wire operated disc brakes. Hydraulic brakes stop that happening again. See the skid mark, heading straight for that boulder.... Bloody sore knee after that.

Its a right of way track from Aboyne to glenesk. It can be done as a circuit starting at aboyne and heading up the firmouth and then returning by the fungle
