Technically the railroad was open for a month or so prior to that day. This day, I think, was rather a celebration of the rebranding from the Hobo Railroad to Granite State Scenic Railroad.

Unfortunately no. Of the 15 AEM-7s that were stored there all except 3 have been scraped. The last 3 will be preserved, with 1 going to a museum. The final 3 should still be around there somewhere.
