Hey Hellacious Driveway, it all boils down to what you really want the car to become, for you. 1. Get her up and running really well and freshen up the interior some. At that point, someone will see it and have to have it at the right money for you. 2. Slowly rebuild the car to its original beauty and keep it. There again, somebody will want it worse then you for the right $$ at some point. Nice car! Great find!

@@rollinontwojohnny3586 thanks for the input. I don’t really want to sell it since i’ve always wanted a 4 speed 340 car. We will see though. I’m still going over the car now to try to get it started. It cranks but won’t fire. Not getting spark, wiring is a mess from being dry rotted/breaking. It has also been really hot out😂. That and my orange duster still needs a few things that I need to work on.

Definitely worth restoring. Real H code 340 cars are hard to find. And AMD almost sells all the body parts. I restored my 72 340 four speed back in 95 when you had to find NOS parts or good used.

@@Drivewaytohell it’s a lot of work to restore. But they are easy to take apart. And if you do the work yourself. You’ll save a bunch of money and in the end it will be a new car not too many people have. I took mine completely apart down to the last bolt and had the body plastic media blasted. Three and a half years later it was mint. I painted mine PPG 2001 base coat four coats and eight coats of clear.

@@Eddie-di6eb6cv8v Yea I can take it apart no problem, the Orange one I assembled from nothing, no K frame, glass, interior, wiring etc. Put it together out in the driveway. Learned a lot from that but didn’t need to do any metal work. That’s what I need to learn.

I would rat rod it. It's a 73 and worth maybe 25k restored. It will take a boat load to restore it. Maybe throw on some quarters, get it running and just drive it.

@@DrivewaytohellWith patience and love. She will be restored. She have the most important parts. Gyro wheels (rines de frijol), 340 H code engine, headers, holley air filter (must be chromed again). A, fine body paint and a leather seats can be change the apearance. ❤. Nice car. Congratulations!!!!

I'd restore it. Will take a lot of doing, but its to far gone to leave it as is. But im not a fan of leaving the patina look anyway. Just my opinion.

@Drivewaytohell any body can be made into the H code car.... it's about the vin number and fender tag any way and a build sheet if it has one.. cut out the numbers on the core support and trunk opening and weld back into a nice body an finish off welds on both sides fill an paint... back in the 70s u could buy a new complete body or cab even painted correctly from the factory.. they didn't have the correct number on them we had to change that part..

@@cowboydbop313 she’s cranking now but have to do a little more troubleshooting. I can jump the starter relay with a screwdriver but nothing off of key/ignition. Noticed some chewed up wires and probably also need a coil and ignition module as the one in there leaked all over the fender.

Yeah, she's definitely in rough shape. I don't know what it's worth fully restored or how desirable it is, but unless it's got heavy structural rust, I'd say it might be worth restoring. The cost of restoring it could end up costing more than it's worth in the end though. Hard to say without seeing what it looks like underneath. Tough call. There's only so many left out there. Hopefully it's worth saving. Good luck with it. Interested to see what you do with it.
