Oh man! Honestly, Baker's playing is so unique that I can't recommend one scale that would capture it all. Familiarity with the minor pentatonic, and then the standard major and minor scales would be a decent start. Truly, the best way to understand his style would be to study his licks and play them the way he does. That's what I did for this video, and it helped a ton.

Thank you! This guitar is actually a baritone, so standard tuning is in B. I had to tune UP to C, which was weird (and I wouldn't do it again). You can drop any guitar to C, especially if you're just playing a song or two. Definitely expect your tuning to be unstable when you're that far down. Not a huge deal though, because it sounds cool as heck lol.

I think this song was the perfect song to introduce that amazing PRS with. But yeah, dude, ever since I saw you playing snapcase "Caboose" on a TELECASTER, I knew this channel was something to follow. Thanks for all the years of great videos and the truly vast eclectic mix of styles of music. Oh, by the way... you know what I bet would sound amazing on that gorgeous new PRS? @@alessiomasciandaro1022 I agree! I actually learn songs by both ear and eye. Every time I learn a song, I watch as many live performances as I can find. There are so many possible hand positions, watching the way the original artist played it is invaluable for me when trying to figure it all out.

I actually have two videos that are in process right now, I just need to make the the time to finish them! I also learned the intro to We Called it America a while back... :)
