when you know the trick then it's easy to tell where the pea is. When the guy moves the shell with the pea under it, he pushes it forward and that causes the pea to come out the back, where he grips it with his fingers while he grabs another shell, he pushes this shell backwards and that causes the pea to go underneath it. The problem is, when you know the right one then one of his shills in the audience will make a higher bet on another shell and the guy will always take the highest bet.

This man is like someone high on speed. Maybe he is. His kindergarten abbreviated speech and his movements are ridiculously too rapid. Anyone with real skill in the shell game can move at one third his speed and still make it impossible to win. And it can be done without the shill fat girl and other guy employee he has to pay later. They help, of course, but a skilled solo operator can rake it in also. You let real specators win some..at first..then raise the stakes. Then double the bet so the spectator can "get his money back." LOL. Fools.

You don't understand the con. Why do the ignorant always think they are experts? This is not a solo con, he needs shills in the crowd. There are plenty of people that can correctly guess where the pea is ten times out of ten. When he grabs the shell with the pea and slides it forward, he's just removed the pea from underneath, then when he grabs another shell with that hand and slides it backwards, he's placed the pea underneath. He needs shills because when someone is on to the scam they can win every bet they place, so he needs someone else in the crowd to place a higher bet just to keep the mark from winning. they will only take the highest bet.
