Shouldn’t you test abrasion under water? This would be important because I bet your test is heating up the line to break it. If it was under water it doesn’t heat up the same way. I think you are getting the wrong results. I do a lot of bait fishing for tuna and the big boys can break you off at the gills after a long fight. I’m not sure I would call this abrasion so much as ‘pinching’ of the line. The leader gets like flattened out. Flourocarbon leader performs significantly better in my non scientific tests.

Hey Luke, that looks delish!! Whole flounder is my favorite way to eat it. I'm curious though, what length was that fish? Thanks!

My mouth watered the whole time watching this! I will be trying this on my next flounder and I think it will work great for specks, bluegills, etc.
@Saltstrong20 сағат бұрын
Yes, this works great for smaller fish... I do it with grunts, seabass, sand perch, etc. and they all taste great.

after years of living in Vero Beach I first turned to two treble ,next to one , next to a single single hook ,next to no hooks . Sounds crazy but often one only wants some sport and not food . If that appeals to you go hookless and learn how to get the strike without harming the fish . BTW largest Florida redfish was caught on a topwater lure Atom 40

I use mono backing on my larger salt water spinning reels. For now I use the double uni to attach the lines.

Going for sturgeon, not weak bass. I dont trust 8-10lb mono as backing. I put 20-40lb mono as backing.
