Double check the COTA website, but they allow dslrs and camera gear. I recall there being some restrictions to lens length.

Great video and super helpful. We're attending COTA next month, travelling over from New Zealand. I've read a lot about the crowds, queues and heat so it was good to stumble across your video. Did you end up walking back to your car on race day to have lunch? And with the Amex radios, would they have given one to each of you if you'd asked? (I'm keen to get one for me and both my children when we attend.) Thanks so much

Amex radios seemed to be one per cardholder… but it’s worth it to ask! And yes, we went back to the car to eat.

In hindsight, do you all think parking was better than the buses? And how much was the parking pass? I'm guessing it was the COTA official parking? Thanks!
@nathorniel
@nathorniel 2 ай бұрын
If I recall correctly, parking was $200-$250 for the 3-day weekend. I checked the COTA site and parking passing are now $375... 😳 Can't comment on the bus service; we never considered it. Thanks for watching!

The guy sitting behind you guys at the airport is all in your business 😂. Anyhoo, I just got back from Cabo 2 days ago and I’m already yearning for the food and drinks🍹🌮🌯. How was diving? Is the tank heavy-heavy or a little heavy? 😄
@nathanandalice
@nathanandalice 6 ай бұрын
Haha. We made sure to include him in the video. Diving was amazing! Cozumel is our favorite place to dive. The tanks can feel heavy when suiting up and moving about the boat, but once you're in the water none of that matters. ;) Alice typically requests a smaller tank, which helps with overall weight and her buoyancy since she's on the smaller side.

Quick question - I see that some villas are accessed from the beach (but are still considered over water) and then there are others arranged in a circle around a boardwalk which are more out in the ocean (and obviously over water) - what's the difference, apart from the access point? Are the room descriptions different? Thank you.
@nathanandalice
@nathanandalice 11 ай бұрын
Hi @paulbrooks8068! Thank you for watching. There are no differences between the rooms along the boardwalk and those that have private beach access. The layouts for the over-water villas are the same. I will say, though, that getting to the islands restaurants, bars, and other activities is a little easier from the private beach access suites. The suites along the boardwalk are farther away and require a longer bike ride or shuttle pickup by the staff. Having snorkeled the area under the boardwalk and the area around the beach access suites, I definitely think that the beach access suites (at least on the ocean-facing side) having better snorkeling and more reef to explore. Hope this helps!

Hi, stumbled on your awesome video here! Questions - do you need a certificate prior to scuba diving though? We are planning to go this december and was wondering if we can scuba too. Do you have to book ahead of time for the jurassic park and what tour did you get? Do you have to pay for the polynesian culture? Thanks guus!🎉
@nathanandalice
@nathanandalice Жыл бұрын
Hi there! Thanks so much for watching! To answer your questions: - Scuba: you don't need a certificate to try diving! Usually every dive company will offer an "Intro Exploratory Dive" where they teach you the basics and take you to a shallow reef (<30 ft) to give it a try. This is a great way to see if diving is your jam before investing time and money into a certificate! We love diving so much that we decided to get our Open Water and Advanced certificates so we can go deeper and explore more dive locations, but you don't need them at all to try it out :) - Kuraloa Ranch: yes, you do need to book the tours ahead of time, especially during busy season! We got pretty lucky as we went during a slower time in Hawaii and were able to book it just a day beforehand, but we have heard that during popular times (like Christmas or summertime), you sometimes have to book it a few weeks in advance. The two we did was: Zip Line Tour (we booked this for the morning) and 2 Hour UTV Raptor (we booked this for the afternoon), with a nice lunch break in between. It made a perfect day! You can book the tours here: www.kualoa.com/ - Polynesian Culture Center: yes, it did require an entrance fee which included dinner and a really awesome fire show in the evening (recording was not allowed so not in video unfortunately!) We didn't spend a lot of time there as we were just a bit jet lagged and travel weary, but there are tons of activities so you can easily spend a whole day there. We do think the ticket price was well worth it if you do decide to check it out! More details here: polynesia.com/ Hope this helps! We hope you have an amazing time in Oahu - it's such a beautiful island!

Singapore 🇸🇬 is not your typical South East Asia city that you have visited i.e. Thailand🇹🇭, Philippines 🇵🇭, Malaysia 🇲🇾, Indonesia 🇮🇩, Vietnam 🇻🇳, Cambodia 🇰🇭, Myanmar 🇲🇲 or even Brunei 🇧🇳. A combination of Modern Architecture surrounded by old British 🇬🇧 colonial buildings with lush foliage on the skyscrapers. Very westernized and contemporary yet still preserve the old rustic looks of old village settings. The price of accommodation and food tends to be on the pricey side if you dine on a mostly touristy flank. Go to hawker centers for cheaper options in Singapore 🇸🇬. There is plenty of it here and to approximate is beyond comparison.

Hi there! Our specific villa was #228. It had a private entrance and was close to the main island where the restaurants and bars are located. The circle, while great in theory, and very pretty, requires you to bike a bit of distance to get to any of the amenities. We often saw guests staying in the circle requesting pickups and drop offs from the staff via cart to go back and forth. Hope this helps. Have a great trip!
