Hi Ray. So great to see all this fantastic footage of PP! I searched from recent coverage on Facebook that my wife spotted marking your appearance on Opportunity Knocks. You were certainly badly done to there in being forced to do an instrumental number, not that is wasn’t a great performance, just a shame your full talents couldn’t be flexed! You, Dave, Reg, George and Ken were the soundtrack of my childhood: throughout the 70’s my Mam and Dad (Bryan and Brenda Sharpe) were great followers of PP with friends Maureen and Bill Higginson, Bob and Brenda Hughes, Tim and Irene Riley, Dorothy and Alan Leedham. Regular nights out to places like the Nautical Club, Cemetery Cottages, Vickers Sports and many more were the centre of social life.Of course, as a child, my experience was only twice year accompanying the gang: Boxing Day and New Year’s Day lunchtimes at the Nautical Club. I was mesmerised by the whole experience and would sit on a stool as near to George as possible: I was learning keyboards from 7 years old! Once I’d grown my ‘going out wings’ into the 80’s, I was a regular PP follower myself - Sunday’s being sacrosanct at the Bluebird! The line up then included Mike McGuire (guitar/second keyboard), Howie Flynn on drums and a very flamboyant lead vocalist called Gary ??? I realise time has moved on another 30 years since your reunion (!), and sadly some are no longer with us, but it would be fantastic to see another classic performance!! Keep sharing the footage in the meantime please. Take care. Colin
