@brianczach :) and what snare, hi hat and ride do you use in the vid? They both sound great
@brianczach3 күн бұрын
@@Coin3103 Hats are 14" Traditional Jazz, ride is a 20" Vizier crash/ride, I think the snare is a Canopus Yaiba birch. It's been a few years since this was recorded and posted.

Wait, I thought you endorse by Aquarian!
@brianczach14 күн бұрын
I do endorse Aquarian drum heads. Maybe I wasn't clear in the video. The heads on this kit are what Gary uses (Remo), who gave me the kit, so I will be swapping these out for some Aquarians in the very near future.

What snare drum you recommend for Hard Rock, this or SLP G-Walnut?
@brianczachАй бұрын
I would recommend the Bubinga for hard rock. It has more top end frequencies that will project better in the mix. The walnut is darker and more mellow. Also those rims on the walnut really chew sticks up quickly.

Take a trip to Canapus factory, on your own and overall to look around Japan. Although everyday job dont wait 😅

I so badly wanted to go and visit Canopus. I wasn’t staying in Tokyo so had literally zero time in that city. Sendai, where I was staying is a 2 hour bullet train ride to Tokyo. I did get a virtual tour by Nori on WhatsApp and he showed me all around the Canopus HQ.

Also, are you using the star classic kick with the Cannopus toms?

If you're referring to what's in the background, that's the Starclassic Walnut/Birch kick with the Camco toms.

Great stuff! My first time catching your channel, as well. I normally utilize alternating sticking and the "Charlie Watts" approach (playing something like Suds In The Bucket feels good to me with this one, for example), and sometimes double strokes. Funny, following along with your examples, I instinctively played the double/flam new version as you were introducing that example. Right there with ya! That one feels really good to play. Thanks for the great tips. Looking forward to checking out more of your channel. By the way, your toms sound gorgeous!

Which version of the train is being used by Darius’ Wagon Wheel? I’ve played it a few times, but it would be nice to get it “right”. Thank you so much for your offerings. It is truly a pleasure to get it straight from a pro who actually works within the industry. I’m new here, but I’m subbed now. I think this will be very useful. You don’t spend too much time over speaking about, well, you know, just filler stuff. Thanks for that. All the best brother. Warm regards.

You know Brian, I am one of your biggest fans, and everything you say is true. Lindor is one of the best players in baseball. However, that guy along with Vientos killed our chances for a World Series Win. The Dodgers, a common foe, look hard to beat. Cheers, from a very sad Phillies Fan. 😭😢👍

I play primarily New Orleans style/dixieland and find it hard not to swing when playing train beat w singles. I'm definitely going to try the doubles, I think it might help!

With my background in jazz, I also find it difficult not to put a little hump on it. The doubles makes it easier for me.

If i may, The time of my life is Vinnie on drums and All night long is John Robinson if i'm not mistaking.

Hmmmm. Not according to Wikipedia. I know it's not always correct but it doesn't sound to my ear like it's Vinnie. All Night Long is definitely JR Robinson.
