Michael, I am going to use your animals sign class for helping my Mexican friends learn some ASL because they really want to know more ASL. We live in Baja California and more and more ASL using deaf are moving there. I am a retired teacher of the deaf from U.S. and Mexico living in both countries, half 6 months I one and half 6 months in the other. Janet

This was very helpful. I’ve been so focused on learning to sign that I haven’t been learning to interpret sign.

Not ASL idioms. Yes ASL, but not idioms... just normal ASL signs.

I am learning ASL because I have some deaf friends and I am autistic. Even if I do have to slow it down half, I am improving. I will be watching a lot of your vocabulary videos. Very helpful.

Can you provide a list? Some of these I haven't seen before and I can't read your lips on all of them. Thanks.

Hi Monique - if you click on the [CC], you can see the names of the city as I sign them. Hope this helps?

There have been many variations . This is the first one I’ve seen and there are more and better signs than that to fit his image.

That's a beautiful thing how you're doing Donald sign name... You have hair! What about the peeps that don't? I want to know the first person that gave Donald his sign name? I have seen it signed in so many different ways! Am I allowed to give a sign name since I am a CODA? ✌️♥️ OH AND ANOTHER THING I WANT THE LOVE SIGN IN THE ICONS!

Hello! I’m a math teacher learning ASL. I know the basics, but I would like to know more of higher level terms like variables, cancel out/cancel each other, degree, factoring, quadratic equation, etc. I saw another video, but it was old and I don’t know if the signs are the same.

This is amazing. Thank you so much. I am learning ASL because not only do I think it is important to be able to communicate with those who are deaf or HOH, or that its a beautiful language I have always admired, but also because I've been told to sign these types of things when my panic disorders/symptoms come up or I become nonverbal in a classroom setting. I never thought to look to ASL for signs for myself until I started stuttering the other day. I'm excited to learn. Intersectionality is so important, and sign language is so amazingly versatile. Everyone should be able to sign or at the very least communicate.

Thank you for sharing. Please do let me know if there's any other resources you may need. I teach ASL on the high school and college levels and this is my passion... because of so many reasons, including what you shared with me. Good luck with your ASL studies and congratulations on discovering a whole new world where communication becomes less of a barrier.

I would like you to know that I help me ALOT with asl! I can now understand almost fluently what you say (thanks to you)! You don’t get a lot of recognition and I wish I could fix that! Have a fantastic day :)

We have a lot of birds where we live. It's the season for them to build nests. On occasion, we also spot eagles and hawks.

What's the difference between "Lemon" & "who"?
@michaelposner37918 жыл бұрын
Hi Patricia - The main difference is facial expressions. With "WHO," the eyebrows shift downward to indicate a question word and the lips form an "O" shape. Also context matters. I wouldn't normally say, "SHE WENT STORE WITH LEMON?" So by signing, "WHO," you would infer that I am saying, "SHE WENT STORE WITH WHO?" Hope this helps? Take care, -Mick
